    FT. Loughrea 2-22 Slaughtneil 0-15

Defeat for Slaughtneil at the semi-final stage once more and that one is sure to sting for a few months yet.

But it has been a remarkable year as they clinched the Ulster title for only the sixth time in their history and won a record extending 13th Derry title in a row.

Today also brings an end to the GAA action for 2025 and what a year it has been.

Thankfully we don't have long to wait until the 2026 action starts as Armagh host old rivals Tyrone in the first Dr McKenna Cup clash on Friday 2 January.

But for Slaughtneil today, it just wasn't to be.
