Britain's Nicola Adams moved closer to her first full professional world title fight by beating Isabel Millan to win the interim WBO world flyweight title.

Adams, 35, earned a unanimous points victory over the Mexican and will now likely fight for a world title in her next bout.

The win is a fifth from five fights for two-time Olympic champion Adams since she turned professional in 2017.

"I belong at world class. I want that world title shot," Adams said.

Her promoter Frank Warren said the Yorkshirewoman could fight for the full WBO female flyweight championship, currently held by Mexican Arely Mucino, on the undercard of the fight between Josh Warrington and Carl Frampton at the Manchester Arena on 22 December.

Well that fight has disappointed but let's hope there's better in the UFC later.

Conor McGregor returns to the octagon after a two-year absence to face Russia's Khabib Nurmagomedov as part of UFC 229 in Las Vegas.

The pair are going for the lightweight title fight and it is being billed as one of the biggest fights in mixed martial arts history.

"One for the purists," is the verdict from Carl Frampton on BT Sport.

  7. Catterall winspublished at 23:47 BST 6 October 2018

Nope. 118-110, 115-113 115-113 are the margins as Jack Catterall wins it. One judge has him by eight rounds, the other two by two rounds.

He remains the WBO intercontinental super-lightweight champion.

They are taking their time. A split decision coming?

  9. It's overpublished at 23:45 BST 6 October 2018

Not much enthusiasm from the crowd, nor from either man at the end of that one.

    Poor, very, very poor. Sadly.

To the judges at ringside we go.

  10. Postpublished at 23:43 BST 6 October 2018

Ninety seconds left. Catterall lands a few.

  11. Postpublished at 23:41 BST 6 October 2018

Neither man is going out and taking this win. They have been far too cautious, respectful yes, but so cautious. Both corners are telling their man they have got it. Ohara Davies' face suggests differently. A look of panic on his face at the start of the 12th.

  12. Postpublished at 23:38 BST 6 October 2018

Two rounds to go. Not a fight they will talk about for long. Probably not even on the way home from the arena.

  13. Postpublished at 23:36 BST 6 October 2018

    Round 10

An occasional punch lands from either man, but no one can build on it with any kind of combination. It has been that sort of fight.

  14. Postpublished at 23:35 BST 6 October 2018

Yet again Ohara Davies is planting his left foot on the toes of Jack Catterall. Davies is better than this, he doesn't need to resort to such tactics. But he can keep doing it as referee Howard Foster keeps letting him get away with it.

  15. Postpublished at 23:30 BST 6 October 2018

A right lands for Ohara Davies. We have waited a long time for that. We definitely do not have a clear leader so both men are going to have throw caution out of the window and go for it a bit more. We're in the ninth by the way.

  16. Postpublished at 23:28 BST 6 October 2018

I wish I could tell you it has lived up to what we expected. I'm sorry, it just has not. It has stunk, in all honesty. Still, there is enough time for it to spark into life.

"Not a lot of action going on," says Jamie Moore, who is spot on.

  17. Postpublished at 23:25 BST 6 October 2018

"He's starting to get ragged and starting to get desperate," says Catterall's trainer Jamie Moore.

Incredibly hard to score. It could well be a five-round shootout for the win.

  18. Postpublished at 23:22 BST 6 October 2018

You wonder if Howard Foster is going to have a word with Davies constantly creeping on to the toes of Catterall. Naughty from the Londoner.

  19. Postpublished at 23:22 BST 6 October 2018

The second half of the fight is now upon us. Let's never talk about that first half ever again.

  20. Postpublished at 23:20 BST 6 October 2018

A good left hook from Catterall on the counter. Davies is standing often with his left arm out in front of him and often standing on his opponent's toes. Catterall's feet are going to be sore tomorrow. Six gone.
