Newcastle United

Now the Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has also been talking about new record signing Miguel Almiron and on loan Antonio Barreca.

On Almiron, who signed from Atlanta United he said: “He’s a nice lad, he’s a worker and he’s training well. He has been talking with the nutritionist already – he’s quite professional.

"Everything we try to do with every player, we will do with him.

On Barreca:

"Antonio knows what we want and we’re working on that. The week away will be another opportunity for him to get to know his teammates. He will need some time but he is very focused."

Newcastle United

The Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has a rare selection headache for Monday night's Premier League trip to Wolves with new signing Miguel Almiron and five fit-again players available for action.

Almiron could be handed a debut at Molineux, but Paul Dummett, Mohamed Diame, Ki Sung-yueng and Joselu are back from injury while Yoshinori Muto is available following his return from the Asian Cup.

Asked about their injury situation Benitez said: "Much better. Apart from Jonjo (Shelvey) and (Rob) Elliot, the rest of the team is fine. They have been training, so everybody is fit and available."

Crystal Palace

More from the Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson:

"In the last few weeks, our goalscoring record has not been that bad at all. There was a period where we were drawing 0-0 and maybe either winning 1-0 or losing 1-0 and not scoring enough goals, but I think we're addressing that."

On Palace's latest signing Michy Batshuayi:

"He's very anxious to do well, there's no question of that. He's had to work hard to get where he is today so there's no one doubting his motivation and his desire. He's been very warmly embraced and has very, very quickly found his feet here.

"He's lived in London before so it was a fairly easy move back for him. We're hoping that he'll do well - he's certainly had a good start. Especially when you come as a forward to a new club, if you can start by scoring or providing assists, it's the best possible start you can have."

Crystal Palace

The Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has been updating the media on team news before his side host West Ham.

He said: "Cheikhou Kouyate still hasn't recovered so he's not available. Julian Speroni unfortunately picked up a minor injury a few days ago so he's not up for selection. Pape Souare has had a long term injury as has Connor Wickham.

"The other injury news unfortunately for us is James Tomkins, who's been struggling with a calf strain."

Leicester City

“It is a tragedy. I would like to offer all my condolences to his family and both clubs.”

More from the Leicester City manager Claude Puel: "We have a difficult schedule at the moment but it’s a good challenge for my players.

"If we look at our game against Manchester United, there was little between the two teams.

"We know we need more consistency in our game, especially at the beginning. We have conceded too many early goals. Too many times we are chasing the game.”

On new signing Youri Tielemans: “We will see [if he can start against Spurs]. I haven’t made my decision yet. He has worked hard in training.”

Leicester City

Next up is the Leicester City boss Claude Puel who has updated us on injuries including the fitness of winger Marc Albrighton.

And it is not good news I am afraid Foxes fans.

"We already know the injury to Marc [Albrighton]. He has a serious hamstring injury," Puel said.

"He will have surgery. He will perhaps not be available before the end of the season."

Albrighton injured his hamstring in training before Leciester's defeat to Manchester United last Sunday.

Everton

A lot has been made of Everton manager Marco Silva's return to Watford at the weekend.

The manner of his departure was acrimonious to say the least after the Hornets turned down a mid-season approach from Everton, for Silva, last term.

However the 41-year-old Portuguese boss appeared pretty relaxed about it all.

"It’s not the time to reflect on last season. What I can tell you about Watford is that it will be a tough game. If you ask me about the reception, in football I will tell you that you have to be ready for anything," he said.

"I am ready for everything and my job is to make sure my players are ready. Normally the best team on the pitch will win the match. It is not a distraction for us. Our players have to be ready to play a football match."

Everton

Over on the blue side of Merseyside, Everton manager Marco Silva says that Colombia defender Yerry Mina is doubtful for Saturday's trip to Vicarage Road.

Mina's fellow defenders, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka are definitely out.

Liverpool

“It is getting exciting now. I don’t think anyone thought we would be top of the league 12 points (clear)," Jurgen Klopp said, when asked about how he is feeling about the title race.

"Only chance to improve our position is by winning games.

Klopp on facing Bournemouth after playing in midweek:

“Last break helped us in some parts. We will deal with it. I know we will be ready with each fibre of our bodies."

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp says centre-back Joe Gomez's surgery on his broken leg went "really well" adding he is now "four to six" weeks before he can return to play.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson have both returned to training and came through without any issues.

Gigi Wijnaldum also trained as normal while Dejan Lovren is not fit.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed injured midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was added the Liverpool's Champions League squad list this week, should be fit if the Reds reach the semi-final stage of the competition.

The German is now waiting for the "green light" from medical staff to introduce the England international back into training sessions.

Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered knee ligament damage in April 2018.

Manchester City

So what does the Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola make of the Premier League title race and does he think Liverpool are suffering from a bout of nerves?

"Tomorrow they play before us and I think things are going to change," Guardiola said.

"The pressure, Liverpool are exceptional, I don't have the feeling that Jurgen Klopp or Virgil van Dijk feel pressure.

"I feel they play good and try to win the games, I think they will be there until the end and we have to be there to win our games to decide the Premier League."

Manchester United

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has won the Premier League Player of the Month Award, joining his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær on the honours list.

Told City full-back Benjamin Mendy had put something on social media suggesting he was in Hong Kong, first Guardiola swore, then said: "Hong Kong? He was in Barcelona yesterday.
