The goal that put England into U20 World Cup semi-finalspublished at 16:30 BST 5 June 2017

    Football

Here's the full story behind England's win against Mexico in the Under 20s World Cup quarter-finals.

Liverpool-bound striker Dominic Solanke scored the only goal of the game to send the Young Lions though - and they survived for 20 minutes with only 10 men.

The team last reached the final four of this competition in 1993, when a side featuring Nicky Butt and Nick Barmby lost to Ghana in the semis before beating Australia to finish in third place.

Their semi-final takes place on Thursday against Italy.

If France are going to have a man in the Roland Garros quarter-finals, joining the two women in the last eight, then Gael Monfils is going to have to do it the hard way.

But he never does it easy, does he? The Frenchman fights back twice in the breaker, from 3-1 and 6-3 down, batting off three set points for Wawrinka.

A fourth goes begging when Stan guides a forehand return over the baseline, then he earns a fifth with a perfect forehand that clips the white paint.

This time the Swiss third seed takes his chance, pulling Monfils out wide and then swatting down a net volley to take the second set.
