Cardiff Devils forward Ben Davies became only the fifth player to reach 1,000 Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) games when he took to the ice in Friday's 4-1 victory against Guildford Flames.
Cardiff-born Davies joined fellow Welshmen Jonathan Phillips and Matthew Myers, Devils assistant captain Mark Richardson and Glasgow's Robert Lachowicz as the only players to reach the mark.
The 35-year-old Great Britain international turned professional with the Devils in 2007, leaving in 2014 for spells with Glasgow Clan, Flames and Manchester Storm.
Since returning to south Wales in 2021 he has won the Play-Offs and the Continental Cup with Cardiff.
"Ben has had a tremendous career in the Elite League and for the GB national team and he is a great player and an incredible teammate," said Devils managing director Todd Kelman.
"Ben is a proud Welshman and has always played with his heart on his sleeve. He brings a relentless work ethic and passion for the game to the rink every day."
Davies made appearance 1,001 in Sunday's 4-2 win at Fife Flyers.
