  5. Cheltenham or Benidorm?published at 15:15 GMT

    Harry Redknapp
Former football manager and racehorse owner on BBC Radio 5 Live

I know a lot of people going abroad and watching horse racing.

To go and sit in the sun, watch the racing on TV. If you want to have a bet, you can do it on your phone. It is a different way of doing it, but I like to be at Cheltenham.

The atmosphere at Cheltenham is what makes it. It is amazing the first race today when the tape goes up and off we go – it will be a great atmosphere.

Jagwar and Johnnywho are both well fancied in the fourth race of day one.

  9. Can Quebecois last the distance?published at 15:05 GMT

    Ultima Handicap Chase (15.20 GMT)

The longest Grade One race of the day at three miles and a furlong, with the joint biggest field with 22 runners scheduled to compete.

Multiple tipsters fancy Quebecois, despite the seven-year-old trained by Paul Nicholls enduring patchy form in recent races.

He has not won in four over fences, but the mount of jockey Harry Cobden hugely impressed at Cheltenham Trials Day in January.

And with the seventh-lightest weight of the field, this is a chance for this well-tipped lad to step up.

Hansard, who was the 100-1 outsider in the race, suffered an injury while running on the flat towards the end of the race rather than in a fall.

Saratoga looked good and he looked good throughout!

This horse looked like he had bundles in hand. He travelled well. He got a good jump at the last and he sprinted away from them.

It was all about Saratoga. In this horse, you have a real, real quality winner.
