Great Britain have named a strong squad for the World Gymnastics Championships starting later this month in Glasgow.

Athletes can secure qualification for next year's Rio Olympics at the championships, staged at the Hydro Arena from 23 October to 1 November.

London 2012 medallists Louis Smith, Max Whitlock, Kristian Thomas and Daniel Purvis are in the six-man men's team.

Claudia Fragapane is in the women's line-up, returning to the arena where she won four Commonwealth gold medals.

She will be joined in the team by European bars and beam silver medallist Rebecca Downie, her younger sister Ellie Downie and British champion Amy Tinkler, who will both make their World Championship debuts, plus triple Commonwealth medal winner Ruby Harrold and World University champion Kelly Simm.

In the men's team, the four Olympians are joined by European junior all-around champion Nile Wilson and English all-around champion Brinn Bevan in his first World Championships.
