The Mansfield fans have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Eight am and the beers were out - I saw that in their yellow cups, they're not fooling anybody.

They've had a wonderful time, we've had conversations with a lot of them and a lot have stayed behind now looking down on some of the players who've come out and they deserved a good day. They're really proud of the players.

Mansfield forward Rhys Oates, speaking to TNT Sports: "Before the game, the gaffer said 'Just have a go. We were not expected to win the game, so have a go and enjoy it'.

"We created more chances than we thought we could, and we have given them a game.

"I had a few chances. I feel like I could have put one away myself. The players they have got they are going to make good interceptions. You just have to keep going."It was a dream come true. I said as a child I wanted to play for Arsenal or against Arsenal and I have managed to do that now."

Since January 2025, no player has scored more goals in the FA Cup (first round onwards) than Eberechi Eze (5), while his eight goals involvements are two more than any other player during this period.

Arsenal's Eberechi Eze speaking to TNT Sports: "Happy to score. I had the space and the opportunity to shoot. So I took it.

"It was a difficult environment to play in. But we did what we had to do and we are through to next round which is the important thing.

"We are working hard and we are focussing on the process. Otherwise, we won't get there. We are working hard and doing everything we can to win all the silverware on offer."

A brilliant day too for teenager Max Dowman on his debut.

Much like Rio Ngumoha for Liverpool last night, it was the youngster who stood out this afternoon for the Premier League side.

He had five shots with three on target and was unlucky not to find the net.

If not for a brilliant performance from goalkeeper Liam Roberts he might have found himself on the scoresheet.

Lucas Akins gets forward down the left but he's offside in the end anyway.

That is the last action of the match! A real tough test for Arsenal today. Mansfield gave them a bit of a scare but the Premier League leaders get the job done.

Mansfield still believe but tired legs are hindering them.

A bit of miscommunication between the forward players as Will Evans opts to leave the ball but there was no one behind him to pick it up.

Time is ebbing away and it doesn't feel like it's going to happen for Mansfield here.

Arsenal win yet again, wonder how they will be criticised this time? Mansfield no pushover and Arsenal clearly fielded a weakened team.

    Peter

What is up with Arsenal? This is the worst I’ve seen them play. All credit to Mansfield, but the quality of Arsenal has been truly low. Extremely disappointing. Jesus, where are you? Are you even playing? Dowman was the only bright starter.

Mansfield have honestly been really good today. They can certainly be pleased with what they've put out there. They might even be disappointed they haven't got more out of it and that tells you all you need to know.

Mansfield have been impressive and especially Liam Roberts in goal. He could certainly play at a higher level, some great last-ditch saves today.
