When should you use your wildcard?published at 16:56 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

Josh: Hey Pras, I’ve still got all my chips. Thoughts on if & when they should be used? Thinking of wildcarding after WK31 BGW…

Pras: I think that's a good window to wildcard, yes, since it falls after the quarter-final of the FA Cup - a weekend where the picture for future blanks and doubles will be much clearer. Planning a wildcard after that, which then accounts for the right week to benchboost and play freehit, is the right way to think about it in my opinion.

However, nothing is set in stone. A couple of upsets in the cup and the whole strategy can flip.

    Should I sell Haaland?published at 16:54 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

Ryan: Hi Pras, is Haaland a sell? Considering swapping for Thiago or Ekitike, and to free up budget for Palmer or Semenyo.

Pras: Ryan, if you ask me who the best three forwards to own are, I'd say Haaland, Ekitike and Thiago. Moving them around for other good picks just doesn't seem like a sensible way to use your transfers, in my opinion.

What to do with Palace assets?published at 16:52 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras

George: What to do with Palace defence, i.e. Richards, Munoz, Lacroix? Good fixtures but terrible form...

Pras: Yeah, Crystal Palace are not in a great place at the moment. They look like a shadow of the team in the first half of the season that gave us reliable clean sheets. Unless anything changes there, I think they are all a clear sell after the next Wolves (H) game.

Best midfield picks?published at 16:50 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

Dan: What are the best replacements for Enzo?

Pras: Hi Dan - Do not sell Enzo this week. I feel he's been unlucky not to be involved in points in the last two games. Stay patient for Burnley and then sell if needed.

From next week, Bournemouth mids like Rayan, Adli, Tavernier (who is now fit) look great. Even Bournemouth mids like Outtarrra and Schade are good picks. Even Szoboszlai is a good shout.

  8. BBC Sport's captaincy choice - Palmerpublished at 16:47 GMT 20 February

Cole Palmer celebratesImage source, Getty Images

The latest captain in BBC Sport's team of the week had to come from Chelsea, as they face a Burnley side that has conceded a league-high 32 goals away from home.

That is nearly three goals per game - but who do you choose out of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro?

The pair have scored 43 and 48 FPL points in the past five gameweeks respectively, the two form players in that period.

If you own both, it is a near-impossible choice - but Palmer is selected with penalties adding to his potential.

Captain Bruno or Enzo?published at 16:43 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras
FPL veteran with eight top-25k finishes and co-host of The FPL Wire podcast

Freddie: Hi Pras, I've got a bit of a dilemma. My gut says captain Bruno, but I might go Enzo because of Burnley. What would you do? Thanks.

Pras: Between the two, I'd pick Bruno. He is a lot more explosive, more routes to points incl penalties. With Enzo, we are not even sure if he ends up playing in the 8 alongside Caicedo or in the 10. Both are good this week, but for captaincy, I prefer the Portuguese.

  10. Ouattara over Schade from Brentford?published at 16:39 GMT 20 February

    Statman Dave
Fantasy 606's football analyst and FPL expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

Kevin Schade is the Brentford player we've been pushing this season.

Dango Ouattara is another one. We could go with [Michael] Kayode.

I would go Ouattara over Schade at the moment.

For defenders, you've got [Nathan] Collins, Kayode, [Sepp] van den Berg.

Defensive recommendations for this week?published at 16:37 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras
FPL veteran with eight top-25k finishes and co-host of The FPL Wire podcast

Mathew: Hey, who would you recommend as a defender to bring in for this week? Lewis-Potter has caught my eye, especially with the fixtures.

Pras: I wouldn't go near Lewis Potter, since his starts could now be under threat with Schade back from suspension and Ouattara starting regularly.

I'd look at players with a good run of fixtures, especially in GW31 (a week where Arsenal, and possibly Man City, will blank). The three that fit this category are Van Dijk, Andersen and Hill. Depending on your budget, I'd look at someone in these categories.

Get Involved - 'Injuries and changes to FPL have made it harder'published at 16:34 GMT 20 February

Agree with Nel (16:12), but I'd add that I think it's been more difficult due to injuries (especially to 'premium' players), introduction of DefCon, and ridiculously aggressive price changes.

Aston Villa v Leeds (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

On the subject of Aston Villa, Morgan Rogers scored both goals in their 2-1 win over Leeds back in November.

The midfielder leads all Villa players in the Premier League this season for chances created (33), big chances created (10), assists (5), take-ons (101), touches in the opposition box (131) and has the joint most goals (8).

Should you keep or sell Watkins?published at 16:25 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras
FPL veteran with eight top-25k finishes and co-host of The FPL Wire podcast

Zemo: Hi, Pras, do you think Ollie Watkins is a sell or hold?

Pras: With Tammy Abraham getting minutes, I just don't think Watkins is viable for his price. Think a move to Ekitike, Thiago, or even Joao Pedro would be tempting in my opinion.

  15. Who is out and who is a doubt?published at 16:21 GMT 20 February

    Erling HaalandImage source, Getty Images

We’ve heard from plenty of Premier League bosses over the past few hours.

Pep Guardiola confirmed striker Erling Haaland, who is present in more than two-thirds of teams, is fully fit to face Newcastle after he picked up a knock in last week’s win over Fulham.

But Yoane Wissa will not be available for Newcastle at Manchester City after picking up a "nasty knock" in training.

Elsewhere, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella could be sidelined for up to a month after sustaining a hamstring injury in the draw against Leeds United on 10 February.

Any wildcard advice?published at 16:16 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras
FPL veteran with eight top-25k finishes and co-host of The FPL Wire podcast

Rich: Thinking of wildcarding this week as my team is in a bit of a mess (had been trying to hold out until week 31). Any advice on who to include or not if making the change now?

Pras: I prefer the window next week if your team desperately needs it. It's a point when you can jump on Liverpool, Brentford and Bournemouth players and offload 1-2 Arsenal since they are going to blank in GW31.

For next week, you might even toy with a Salah, no Haaland team if you wanted to take the risk. I still prefer a GW32 wildcard personally, since by that time we will have a much clearer picture of the run-in and know when the future double and blank gameweeks will happen. It just helps maximise the chips a lot better.

Get Involved - 'Premier League is so unpredictable for FPL'published at 16:12 GMT 20 February

Click 'Get Involved' to have your say

Unless I'm mistaken, having played FPL for a number of seasons, it seems increasingly difficult to hit the heights of 90 points plus. Even using any one of your chips. The Premier League is unpredictable each week, which reflects this, although good for the sport itself and the neutrals in reality!

  18. Palmer joy against promoted teamspublished at 16:08 GMT 20 February

Chelsea v Burnley (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

No team has scored in more different Premier League games than Chelsea this season (24).

Cole Palmer has been involved in 14 goals in his 12 Premier League starts for Chelsea against promoted sides, scoring eight and providing six assists.

The first game included in that streak was against Burnley in October 2023, when he got a goal and an assist.

Time to captain Palmer?published at 16:04 GMT 20 February

    FPL Q&A with Pras

    Pras
FPL veteran with eight top-25k finishes and co-host of The FPL Wire podcast

Steve: Captain Palmer this weekend, what do you think?

Pras: Hi Steve. I think with a nice rest last weekend, and no upcoming mid-week game, Palmer is the best captaincy option this week against Burnley. In the final third of the Leeds game, he really did like the old Palmer we know. But if buying now, it feels a lot more short-term since right after this, he plays Arsenal at the Emirates. If you already own, of course, you can captain him.
