Baz: What on earth do I do with Jarod Bowen! I brought him in four weeks ago when it looked like he had a good run but he's stinking up my team! I have Ekitike and Haaland also.

Holly: Bowen is such a tricky customer! It blows my mind that he's the third highest scoring forward in the game, with six goals and two assists. The concern is that he's playing reverse out of position, as a winger.

West Ham's 2-1 win away at Spurs could be a real turning point for their season and with some attractive upcoming fixtures against Sunderland and Burnley, he may be a hold. Thiago is in irresistible form though…

  2. Salah and Slot relationship needs to 'solidify' before buyingpublished at 16:55 GMT 23 January

    Mohamed SalahImage source, Getty Images

Gareth: Is an Erling Haaland to Mohamed Salah switch likely to be on in the next few gameweeks?

Holly: This is a wait and see. Salah's status in Arne Slot's attack was particularly contentious ahead of his departure for the African Cup of Nations, so we'd need to be confident in that relationship solidifying before even considering buying him. We've also historically seen Salah struggle with fatigue towards the end of the season, particularly after a disjointed campaign with this competition with the Egyptian national team.

  3. 'Mbeumo has the potential to be better long term than Guimaraes'published at 16:53 GMT 23 January

    Bryan MbeumoImage source, Getty Images

Roy: Do you think Bruno Guimares or Bryan Mbeumo is the better long-term pick? I have Bruno in my team but I have the cash to upgrade to Mbeumo.

Holly: This is a tough one, especially when you throw into the mix question marks over Bruno's fitness. Ultimately, if I was to buy a Manchester United midfielder, I'd be finding the funds for Bruno Fernandes who has vast routes to points and should be consistent over the season run-in.

I think Mbeumo has the potential to be the better long-term pick compared to Bruno G, with Manchester United's only focus being the Premier League a key advantage over Newcastle United who remain involved in four competitions.

  4. 'Woltemade is a sell'published at 16:50 GMT 23 January

    Nick WoltemadeImage source, Getty Images

Luke: Is it worth holding onto a misfiring Nick Woltemade (now in competition for minutes with Yoanne Wissa) or should I bring in an alternative? Who are the best options up top?

Holly: Nick Woltemade is a sell for me, with just one assist in the last four gameweeks, and the availability of Wissa having a significant impact on his minutes. It feels like a 3-5-2 formation is optimal right now, with Haaland and Thiago providing that template. They are the top two players in the game for goal involvements in this campaign and seemingly impossible to ignore.

Hugo Ekitike is the next placed to disrupt those two players, at a slightly higher price tag.

  5. 'Palmer too risky but prefer Enzo to Neto'published at 16:45 GMT 23 January

Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Enzo FernandezImage source, Getty Images

Chris: If I can't afford Cole Palmer, would Pedro Neto be a good Chelsea midfielder alternative?

Holly: I think Palmer is too risky to buy this week given his ongoing fitness issues anyway. He appeared to be struggling at the end of the 2-0 win against Brentford and was then given the midweek off. I would monitor him against Crystal Palace before investing.

When it comes to Chelsea midfielders, I prefer the form of Enzo compared to Neto, who has just one assist from the last six gameweeks. Enzo has three goal involvements in the same period and looks to be a key pick in the Liam Rosenior era.

  6. 'Better options' than Matetapublished at 16:40 GMT 23 January

    Jean-Philipe MatetaImage source, Getty Images

Chris: Would you keep Jean-Philipe Mateta now he's asked for a transfer?

Holly: Oliver Glasner stated in his press conference today that Mateta will play against Chelsea, despite rumours of him asking for a transfer. Personally, I still believe there's better options to own. However, he could pop up with a big performance, motivated to secure himself a move away.

  7. Mainoo 'one to monitor'published at 16:37 GMT 23 January

Kobbie Mainoo celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Ryan: Now Michael Carrick is in charge... Is Kobbie Mainoo a safe pick for only £4.5m?

Holly: As a Manchester United fan, it's great to see Kobbie Mainoo as a consistent starter under Michael Carrick, and the departure of Casemiro this summer should see Mainoo become more integral to their midfield.

But I wouldn't buy him ahead of Arsenal and his lack of minutes this season may mean he's not quite there yet in terms of fitness. He's one to monitor as your eighth attacker once the fixtures improve in gameweek 24.

  8. Manchester City v Wolves (15:00 GMT)published at 16:30 GMT 23 January

    FPL Q&A with Shand

    Key FPL notes:

    • Phil Foden's (£8.6m) 44 shots and 38 chances created are both among Manchester City's top three players this season.
    • Marc Guehi (£5.2m) is the most-owned defender in Fantasy, with his ownership currently sitting at 37.7% following his move from Crystal Palace to City.
    • Since Gameweek 19, only three defenders have accumulated more FPL points than Hugo Bueno (£4.3m). The Wolves defender has delivered two assists, two clean sheets and two bonus points across that timeframe.

    Enzo FernandezImage source, Getty Images

Arnold: Hi Holly, I am thinking of replacing either Rayan Cherki or Phil Foden with a Chelsea midfielder: Enzo Fernandez or Moises Caicedo, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

Holly: Plenty of managers are looking to offload Manchester City players given their form, especially with the signings of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi leaving some with four or even five assets. I'd be tempted to give them one more week, given the quality of the fixture.

Chelsea are a side to invest in given their recent form, and attractive fixtures over the next five gameweeks. Enzo Fernandez looks an excellent pick under Liam Rosenior.

Erling Haaland and Gabriel JesusImage source, Getty Images

Nathan: Am I mad to consider selling Erling Haaland and bringing Gabriel Jesus in? I have a feeling he's about to hit a run in form.

Holly: I think if Haaland blanks and/or sees his minutes curtailed against Wolves, then most managers will be questioning whether now is the time to sell. Going one week early is a high risk strategy though, especially when looking to buy a player like Gabriel Jesus who hasn’t got a start in the Premier League so far this season. Playing FPL on feelings alone is not the way…

  11. 'Villa assets may have ran their course'published at 16:15 GMT 23 January

    FPL Q&A with Shand

FPL expert and two-time top 10k finisher

Ollie Watkins and Morgan RogersImage source, Getty Images

Alex: I have both Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins. Time to get rid of one or both?

Holly: I believe Aston Villa assets may have ran their course for the time being. Following a phenomenal run of eight consecutive wins, they've managed just four points from their last four league games, with two goals for Watkins and an assist for Rogers in this time.

Thiago is a key acquisition for the forward line, with Manchester United and Arsenal midfield options also key.

  12. 'Semenyo is a key buy for Wolves at home'published at 16:10 GMT 23 January

    FPL Q&A with Shand

    Antoine SemenyoImage source, Getty Images

Mark: Would you do Bruno Guimaraes to Antoine Semenyo? I have exact funds so don't want to be priced out if Semenyo increases tonight.

Holly: I think if you’re not tripled up on Manchester City already this week, then Semenyo is a key buy for Wolves at home. He's had the midweek off, since he's currently ineligible to play in the Champions League, so will be fresh for this one. He has an impressive 15 goal involvements for this campaign and he's an ideal replacement for Bruno Guimaraes if you expect the Brazilian to miss out against Aston Villa.

Marcus: What do you think the Man City back four will be against Wolves? I own O'Reilly and I am not convinced that he'll start.

Holly: I'm a fellow O'Reilly owner and I'm equally worried! A 90-minute performance in the Champions League in midweek has done little to boost my confidence either.

However, if you own him already, you've got to roll the dice with this fixture and hope for the best! We could see Ake, Khusanov, Guehi and Lewis - Pep has confirmed Guehi will make his Manchester City debut in this game, it’s just a shame he didn’t disclose the full starting XI!

    FPL Q&A with Shand

    Thomas Woods
BBC Sport FPL writer, best finish 9,100th

What should FPL managers do with Erling Haaland?

The one-time perma-captain has just 14 points and one goal from his past five games.

In his 17 games before that, the Norwegian netted 19 times, and a closer look at his underlying data shows a bit of a decline too.

    Erling HaalandImage source, Getty Images

Adrian: What do you make of triple captaining Haaland given he's out of form? Anyone else stand out this week?

Holly: On paper, this single gameweek fixture is as good as it gets: a home game for Erling Haaland against bottom of the league Wolves. He has a great record against them, with 10 goals in six league games, including a brace in the reverse fixture back in gameweek one.

However, just one penalty from his last four league games is a concern, with City failing to register a win in this time. Pep Guardiola has stated that Haaland is tired, so it could be a fixture where his minutes are more limited. I would still captain confidently, but save the Triple Captain chip for a double gameweek later in the season.
