So there we have it. Salford City are the first name in the hat for the FA Cup third round.

It's the second successive season the Ammies have made it this far - and only the second time in their history.

A brilliant performance to knock out League One opposition in Leyton Orient, and Karl Robinson's side will be watching on keenly to see who they're pulled out of the hat against.

"It wasn't hard luck. From our point of view, nowhere near good enough. Turned up, first two minutes, slow, boring, no tempo, no desire.

"For as bad as we were, you have to give them credit - they were very good. Bright, wanted to play, and too many of ours were sulking that the pitch isn't good enough.

"I heard them speaking after the warm-up, 'pitch isn't great'. Well, [Salford] played on the same pitch and could deal with the ball.

"For us, too inconsistent."

As a manager, your players have just run through absolute brick walls to defend.

There was always the next red shirt to block, the commitment to get from back to front as a whole unit, and the compactness of the team in all areas of the game.

They'll find bits they can tweak and hopefully take into a league campaign off the back of this, because this should give this group of players a massive, massive boost to compete with teams like Orient.

Now it's about consistency. Can they throw performances like this together more and more?

"I'm made up. Because they control the ball and try and play and find little pockets, it's a little bit easier to try and work on your shape.

"But then you need the quality in transition to make sure you hurt them.

"I felt in the first half, we were terrible at that. Our final ball was a bit sloppy. At half-time, I said: 'If you get in, you've got to take your chance against a good team.'

"I'm really proud of the reaction. They're great lads - a pleasure to work with."

Really disappointing night from a Leyton Orient perspective. Salford were fully deserving of the scoreline, and it could have been more.

And that will be the biggest concern if you're Richie Wellens and his coaching staff.

They will need a response on Tuesday night in what will be a big game against Luton Town. Again for the O's, defensive woes.

"I got the last touch but I've already got one so I'll give one to Kal [Cesay]."

On who he wants to face in the third round: "Anyone, I don't care. Last year we had City and got absolutely pumped, so hopefully an easy one this season but we don't really mind."

On the result: "We had a gameplan and we worked on it all week. As you can see from that performance, it's very well done by the gaffer. We got the win, a 4-0 win as well."

Very, very impressive. And I'll give a side of the game that I like to see. That's defensively being secure, putting your body on the line, making the right decision at the right time to give your keeper the least possible work to do all night.

If I knew I had that front line in front of me, with that energy, with that drive and skill to go past players, I'd be happy just to do my job.

What Karl [Robinson] has built here to have that freedom and creativity, and pace and power at the top end of the pitch.

It looks like Leyton Orient were trying to push forward, but in all honesty, they've been absolutely done tonight.

They haven't been able to lay a glove on Salford whatsover, and Salford are storming through to the next round.

Absolutely brilliant display by Salford, who have dismantled Leyton Orient.

Just to remind you, it's the Ammies who play in League Two and the O's who play in League One. Not that you'd know on that showing.

Richie Wellens will not have enjoyed his return to the Peninsula Stadium.

Kallum Cesay was also shown a yellow in the aftermath of the fourth goal for the hosts.

A late sub for Salford as Rosaire Longelo replaces Kallum Cesay.
