Brentford have won seven of their 10 games against West Ham United in all competitions since becoming a Premier League side in 2021 (D1 L2); they haven’t beaten a side more often during that period.
This is just the third time that West Ham and Brentford have been drawn against each other in the FA Cup – the Bees progressed in a fourth round replay in 1926-27 while the Hammers won 1-0 in the third round in 2022-23 via a Saïd Benrahma strike.
West Ham United have been eliminated from their last three FA Cup fifth round ties – they last reached the quarter-final in the 2015-16 campaign, winning 5-1 away at Blackburn in that season’s fifth round.
This is the first time since 2018-19 that Brentford have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup, though the Bees have failed to progress beyond this stage on the previous three occasions since beating Blackburn 2-0 in 1988-89 and going out to eventual winners Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

Brentford have kept a clean sheet in both their FA Cup matches this season, as many as in their previous 20 games in the competition. Indeed, they last did so in three successive matches in the competition in 2004-05.
