    On the Brentford penalty:

I think the problem is that once you have left the ground you can be easily moved under an inswinging cross. I think players know this and try their luck.

Summerville knows he can't handle Kayode physically or aerially and he isn't aware that he has got into that situation [at the back post]. So he eases him under it.

Kayode looked like he was going to meet the cross and head into the goal so it was the right decision.

The Michael Kayode throw-in bounces all the way through to Alphonse Areola and that will do it.

Extra-time it is. Maybe penalties too. Fine game, 2-2, we continue.

Thomas, Burnley: Steve [@ 21:11] - Nuno can't see a game out from a winning position. Look how many points West Ham have dropped from winning positions this season and you won't have to wonder why they are in a relegation scrap.

The board held up says four minutes. No goals would mean an extra half hour of football.

Where would Brentford be without Igor Thiago? He has been absolutely brilliant this season and should make the Brazil squad for the World Cup.

Why is that not a red card for Summerville? Kayode has a free header from five yards out, and it's not a genuine attempt to play the ball, so no double jeopardy rule?

Teenager Romelle Donovan finally comes on for Brentford and it is now Mikkel Damsgaard the man who comes off, when it was set to be Dango Ouattara before the Bees' second goal.

Igor Thiago has scored two or more goals in six different games this season - the only Premier League player to do so more often is Manchester City's Erling Haaland (eight).

Neither side wants extra-time and West Ham have a chance, but can't convert. It's end to end and any goal now could be a winner.

Brentford deserve it for their all round play this evening, they didn't deserve to be trailing. Now this game is very much in the balance.

Just before that equaliser, there was a fourth change for West Ham with Soungoutou Magassa on for Mohamadou Kante in a straight swap in the middle of the park.

Brentford were set to turn to 19-year-old forward Romelle Donovan, a man who has represented England at Under-20 level, but Keith Andrews changes his mind after the goal, with Donovan having to wait.

  20. 'Power takes it past Areola'published at 21:19 GMT

Thiago just stutters as he steps up to it, waiting to see if the goalkeeper goes, but he doesn't go anywhere. Areola holds his position and holds his nerve, and Thiago does just enough to steer it to his right hand side. The power takes it past him.
