We mentioned set pieces but first and second balls are imperative, it's a lovely finish from Ukraine but a reminder to England they need to stay on. I got goosebumps seeing Ukraine's goal.

  3. 'A lot better in the second half'published at 19:22 GMT

    FT: Ukraine 1-6 England

England boss Sarina Wiegman speaking to a ITV: "It was good. We didn't score in the first half when we should have scored. We totally controlled the game, but just the final position in the cross and the quality with the shot or final touch wasn't good. They dropped so deep, and with the crosses from far out we were not able to score.

"We tried to create the chances or get more at the edge, in the half spaces and have shots from edge of box which we did a lot better in the second half."

On whether she needed to have a tough word with the players at half-time: "I wouldn't say tough words. We put a lot of effort in and we played the way we wanted to. We just wanted to score more goals.

"From where we had to cross and the kind of cross, we needed to change which helped when we changed our wingers from one side to the other. That made it a bit easier for the team.

"Every time we lost the ball we were so on it and that shows the mentality of team. We were disappointed we didn't score but you don't need tough words because everyone was giving their best and doing what we wanted to do."

That's what I wanted to see from Jess Park, she's been Manchester United's super star. I wanted to see that confidence and ruthless edge from her. She didn't feature much in the Euros, she's doing well in the league she needed to state her claim on the jersey.

  5. 'Park is full of confidence'published at 19:14 GMT

The wingers switched sides. Jess Park made that inverted run into the box and it allowed her to be tighter in those spaces and to link-up. You could see the quality of Park. You can see she's full of confidence [in the second half] and taking that form onto the international stage.

What a season Jess Park is having. And now it's starting to show on the international stage.

She had only scored three times in her previous 22 appearances.

After switching Manchester City for Manchester United in the summer, she has scored six goals and assisted four in 16 WSL matches this term.

We know for years now you're not going to dominate on the ball against Spain. For me you've just got to focus on yourself and just get those wins. You want the number one top spot, you don't want another play-off and to do that they have to be ruthless against Iceland and Ukraine.

It was a tale of two halves for England.

They had more possession before the break and more final third entries, but only four of their 15 shots were on target. And there were no goals to show for their dominance.

I was playing the drums I was that excited by the second half performance. I asked for a cutting edge in the final third and it was ruthless. It was a brilliant second half.

  10. 'A game of patience'published at 19:01 GMT

Jess Park looked so much more comfortable on the left, she really drove the game forward, and Esme Morgan, she drove the passes between the lines. It was more of a game of patience for everyone, those games require doing the unselfish things. If I'm going to pick someone it's Jess Park. Ukraine defended very well, they just ran out of gas before the end.

    Two goals for Alessia Russo.

    Two for Georgia Stanway.

    Two for Jess Park.

A good night for those three players.

A great first result, a good performance but there's still areas to improve on. It's been a different team, they've got to find their flow. They're away from home, got a good result, played against a different team. The feeling will be positive.

    And there's the whistle.

It took a while for them to get going but England eventually found a way through and then the floodgates opened.

A successful outing for Sarina Wiegman's side.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 18:50 GMT

    Two minutes of added time.

Is that enough for Georgia Stanway or Jess Park to get their hat-tricks?

  15. 'We've seen her do it for Man United'published at 18:50 GMT

Park switching out and coming onto the left hand side she has the opportunity to shoot. We've seen her do it so many times for Manchester United this year. I think in the first half she was trying too hard to dribble but in the second half she has come into her own.

GOAL - Ukraine 1-6 Englandpublished at 18:48 GMT

    Jess Park

It's a sweet six for the Lionesses.

And it's Jess Park on the scoresheet again. She'll like that one a whole lot more than her first goal.

The Manchester United player cuts in from the left before looping the ball up and over Kateryna Samson's header. A lovely, lovely finish.

Forgot to mention earlier that Lucia Kendall had come on for Keira Walsh after Jess Park's goal.

To be fair, if I was Poppy Pattinson I would want to score on my international debut too.

But she's well off the mark there, lofting the ball into stands.
