    Arsenal

As a Gooner I'm glad Chelsea are wobbling! Liam Rosenior is saying all the right things let’s see if he can do it? Without interference? Maybe a tweak in tactics may get more from Pedro and Delap? They have talent maybe what they need is a couple of experienced players.

The biggest frustration as a Chelsea fan is that all our recruitment is geared towards a long term strategy which is great if you have the patience to see it through, but the ownership can't resist changing things the second there's a downturn in form rather than wait for progress

Chelsea have a collection of very good players who can beat anyone on their day, but it feels like each player is treated like a number instead of human being. The club has never really rebuilt the culture, seniority or leadership we saw with Drogba, Terry, Lampard and Cech.

  7. 'Don't think it helps to label teams'published at 14:25 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on whether this Arsenal side is the best since 'the Invincibles': "I was 17 or 18 and on the bench for Fulham at Highbury, and I couldn't believe the size, the physicality of that team. [Patrick] Viera. They were a good side. The Invincibles.

"I don't think it helps to label teams. We are in January. and there's so much time left in the season.

"What I would say is Mikel has done a great job. They're very well organised, they're very well structured in every phase of the game. But this team and this club have already proved this year, with 10 men, we caused problems before I came to the club, and we want to do the same again on Wednesday night."

  8. 'I'm not calling them Set Piece FC'published at 14:22 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on Arsenal's threat from set-pieces: "Arsenal are good at everything. They're a good team. It's not about taking the game back in time. You have to manage your 1% to be as good a team to win as many different ways as possible. I respect them. I think they'll respect us because we're a good team as well.

"I don't know who's calling them Set Piece FC. I'm definitely not. They're a team who are very good without the ball. They have a really, really clear idea in the way they want to play with the ball. And on top of that, they're very well organised with good delivery on set plays. That's what you want to be if you want to be successful.

  9. 'We've been preparing for Arsenal since I came in'published at 14:20 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on preparations ahead of the Arsenal game: "They've already shown. We've been working tactically on Arsenal from the moment I came into the club. Watched all of their games, analysed every aspect of their game, including set plays, at which they're very good at.

"There's a lot you can affect. We talk about systems and tactics. I was very happy with, after being here for 2 days, I saw an attitude against Charlton that I really, really liked in terms of our energy, our intensity, to press, winning duels, and you're gonna need that against the very, very good team on Wednesday night."

  10. 'I live in the now'published at 14:17 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on the importance of the semi-final against Arsenal: "Every session that I take, every meeting that I take, every game that we play, is the most important thing. I live in the now, so it is the most important game because it's the next one. And I mean that. If you start to prioritise games or think something's more important than the other, then you're not focussed.

"I don't care if it's a preseason game, I'm doing it at my maximum, and I expect that from whichever group I work with. So for me, that keeps me calm, because I'm happy with the process in which we work as a staff, and which the players are taking on. I'm not making it any bigger than the fact it's the next game, and we have to win, and that's the way I see it."

Chelsea in recent years have always done well with wing-backs (Tuchel and Conte come to mind) so I'm quite excited to see a return of playing three at the back, especially because we have the quality to make it work.

  12. Rosenior to make Palmer and James call tomorrowpublished at 14:12 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on players who missed FA Cup third-round tie: "Moises [Caicedo] is suspended. We have had no injuries coming out of the Charlton game.

"I will make a decision on Cole [Palmer], Malo [Gusto] and Reece [James] tomorrow or on the morning of Wednesday. Doing a press conference two days before is not ideal, sorry about that.

"Those players are being managed. It was a good time for them to rest - an FA Cup game. There is no reason to take risk on players' health with this group."

  13. 'I'd love to be here for six years or longer'published at 14:10 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior: "I'd love to be here six years or longer. But to do that, you need to start winning. So my focus is that I have ideas of how the team should look like in one or two years.

"But I already have resources here to win. The lads trained very, very well today. We will make a decision on the team in the coming days and go and attack the game."

  14. 'Arteta has done an incredible job'published at 14:07 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta: "Mikel has done an incredible job. He has had time to build. They are very good with organisation in all aspects of the game. He has done really well there."

"Everyone starts somewhere. Everyone has a different way to get somewhere. You respect everyone in the industry. It's a difficult industry to be in, especially as a coach."

  15. 'Good way to start'published at 14:05 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 GMT)

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior speaking before Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal: "It was the best sleep I had in weeks. It's been a great week. Good way to start. We have a really big game and looking forward to how we do.

On taking charge of a home game for first time: "I did a charity game at Stamford Bridge. I played but wasn't good. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was playing. But it's going to be a little bit different on Wednesday night."

Just want to see the beginning of some consistency. We need to lose the soft underbelly that we seem to have.

  17. 'Every duel, every action, was full gas'published at 13:55 GMT 12 January

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in the post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw with Chelsea said: "Right from the beginning you could tell how much was at stake, every duel, every action - was full gas. Every short sequences of play.

He added: "With the 10 men, obviously we expected a different game but in the second half, straight away after the first kick they get a free-kick, and then a corner and from that they scored.

"Then emotionally, it becomes a very tricky game to play but overall, when you don't win playing against 10 men for 45 minutes you have to be disappointed but we have to know from the week that we have had, playing tough opponents, we still got a point."

  18. The last time Chelsea played Arsenalpublished at 13:50 GMT 12 January

The last time Arsenal and Chelsea met it was in the Premier League, Enzo Maresca was manager and there was talk of a Blues title challenge.

Chelsea spent the majority of the game at Stamford Bridge with 10 men after, in the 38th minute, Blues' midfielder Moises Caicedo was sent off following a video assistant referee review for a late tackle on Mikel Merino.

Home defender Trevor Chalobah scored the opening goal to put Chelsea in front but Mikel Merino found the crucial equaliser in the 59th minute, which helped move Arsenal five points clear at the top of the Premier League - where they currently still are.

One thing that gives me optimism with Rosenior moving forward is he seems more tactially adept than Maresca and can change things mid-game, rather than stick to mind-numbingly boring sideways passing.

  20. Are Chelsea any different under Rosenior?published at 13:35 GMT 12 January

Chelsea v Arsenal (Wed, 20.00 BST)

    Chelsea

In Liam Rosenior's first game in charge, Chelsea lined up in the 4-2-3-1 formation that their supporters are very well used to under former manager Enzo Maresca.

The Blues switched to a 3-4-3 with the ball as the left-back, Jorrel Hato against Charlton, moved into the midfield to join the attack and also scored the opener in the FA Cup third-round tie.

Chelsea had a whopping 74% possession and had 24 shots - with 12 of them on target. They also played plenty of short passes - characteristic of Rosenior's Strasbourg side.

However, there was still discontent among the fans during the cup fixture with Chelsea failing to score up until the final minutes of the first half.

The fans chanted "attack, attack, attack" as Chelsea probed for a breakthrough as they continued their protest against the club's ownership.

And Rosenior will know he will need to keep winning to have the fans fully behind him.
