In the first half Newcastle were just as good, if not better.

They looked like they were going to score off every chance.

Chalk and cheese from the first half to the second really.

But Newcastle have given it a good go all the way through and ultimately they've been punished.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:15 GMT

    Barcelona 6-2 Newcastle (agg 7-3)

The first half was so entertaining. End to end with both sides in it but in this second half the wheels have totally come off for Newcastle.

Joelinton makes way for Sven Botman while Jacob Murphy is on for Anthony Elanga.

Joe Willock also went into the referee's book just before that sixth goal.

  8. 'Fantastic finishing'published at 19:14 GMT

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Another great goal. The experience of Lewandoski, he dummies the goalkeeper. He goes to hit it and just makes that hesitation for that goalkeeper.

Yamal again, brilliant, just a bit of skill and finds Lewandowski. He opened up the angle for himself. Fantastic finishing, absolutely top notch.

  9. 'Its goodnight for Newcastle'published at 19:13 GMT

The one thing Lewandowski is, is lethal. He's got time to weigh his options up and then wallop past Ramsdale.

    It's goodnight for Newcastle.

It has all gone wrong for Newcastle.

Lamine Yamal's spins Dan Burn and finds Robert Lewandowski in acres of space, drifting into the penalty box.

His little dummy catches Malick Thiaw out before the Pole calmly finishes into the bottom corner.

    Barcelona 5-2 Newcastle (agg 6-3)

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

We haven't seen much of Lewandowski tonight but that's where he's most dangerous at times. Just whipped around the back. It's a really good finish at the end of the day. I don't know if Ramsdale could have gotten across. It's a good corner, beautifully whipped in. It's a great ball in.

It's going to be a big ask of Newcastle to bring this back.

    Game surely over.

The corner comes in and Robert Lewandowksi only has to nod down at the back post.

  18. Goal is 'down to Newcastle'published at 19:04 GMT

    Barcelona 4-2 Newcastle (agg 5-3)

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

It's a wonderful goal and it's down to Newcastle. They go man to man the whole pitch. Sometimes you just can't stay with runners the whole time. He's onside and Tonali just can't get there. Great finish, just slides it past Ramsdale.

It's hard to play man-to-man in the whole half. Very difficult to do it so many times.

You feel like it's a long way back for Newcastle now.

It's a really composed finish from Fermin Lopez, they've started so well in this second half.

Newcastle have it all to do now.

    A sucker punch for Newcastle!

Just brilliant build-up play from Barcelona. The ball comes across from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez deftly slots into the bottom corner.

Newcastle have a mountain to climb.
