Colchester's Kyreece Lisbie has a shot blocked by Aaron Rowe

Colchester drew 0-0 with visitors Gillingham, who moved into League Two's play-off spots with the point gained.

The first half was keenly contested and Colchester almost went ahead just before the half hour when Kyreece Lisbie's strike was deflected for a corner by Gillingham goalkeeper Jake Turner after a superb flowing attack by the hosts.

Gillingham's Aaron Rowe then saw his fierce effort diverted away brilliantly by Colchester defender Jack Tucker for a corner from near his own goal-line.

Soon after, U's goalkeeper Matt Macey made a quick stop low down to deny Bradley Dack's deflected shot, after a throw had caused problems in the Colchester box.

Micah Mbick's glancing header flashed just wide of the far post early in the second half for the hosts, while at the other end Macey denied Dack, who seconds later lifted a shot onto the roof of the net as Gillingham pressed.

But neither side could produce a winner, as the points were shared.
