Arsenal have completed the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Barbora Votikova from Slavia Prague on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old Czech international, who made 11 appearances for Spurs in 2023-24, will provide cover for Daphne van Domselaar.

Anneke Borbe started Arsenal's last four WSL games while Van Domselaar recovered from an injury, but was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering a head injury during the final of the Fifa Women's Champions Cup. She has since been discharged.

Arsenal lost Austrian goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger to an ACL injury in October.

London City Lionesses-bound Malou Marcetto is certainly an exciting prospect.

The 22-year-old midfielder has made 18 appearances for Madrid CFF this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Madrid CFF are currently 8th in the Spanish top flight.

The Denmark international joined the club in 2024 from French club Dijon, having begun her senior career with Danish side Brondby in 2020.

She joins a packed midfield stable at London City, which already boasts the likes of Danielle van de Donk, Saki Kumagai and Grace Geyoro.

As well as Lionesses midfielder Georgia Stanway leaving Bayern Munich this summer, there are plenty of other big name players across Europe that will be accessing their options at the end of the season.

    These are:

    • Real Madrid and Scotland's Caroline Weir
    • Former England keeper Mary Earps who is currently at PSG
    • Barcelona trio Caroline Graham Hansen, Mapi Leon and Salma Paralluelo.

I'm told London City Lionesses are set to sign Denmark midfielder Malou Marcetto on a permanent deal from Madrid CFF.

London City originally hoped to bring her in when her contract expired in the summer, but have been able to finalise a deal in this window for a small fee.

The 22-year-old has represented her country at youth level and London City believes Marcetto brings high potential to the squad and provides added first-team competition.

Their transfer policy this year has been to build a squad with a mixture of high-potential young talent and a sprinkling of big-name stars.

They have already signed France international striker Delphine Cascarino in this window, but are not expected to bring in anyone else.

Leicester fans - we've got news of a deal to bring you!

Unfortunately it's not a new signing though.

18-year-old defender Nelly Las has joined WSL 2 side Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.

The academy graduate has made 23 appearances since her Foxes debut in October 2024.

Chelsea have brought in Ellie Carpenter but they seem to be working well together. Bronze still wants to play - she looks fit and she wants to dominate all the trophies.

I don't know where she would go and she wants to win another trophy with England. I think Chelsea is a great place for her.

    Verdict: Stick.

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor knows how important Lucy's mentality is and what her levels are. I would suggest Sonia offers her a new contract.

We have played with Lucy and you know how competitive she is. She wouldn't want to take a bit-part role. She would want to end her career at the top, competing in every minute of every game.

    Verdict: Stick.

After two seasons in Spain with Barcelona, Lucy Bronze returned to England with Chelsea in 2024 and helped them to an unbeaten domestic treble of WSL title, Women's FA Cup and League Cup.

Now 34, Bronze's two-year deal with the champions is about to run out but she remains a serial winner, having won five Champions League titles across her career as well as Euro 2022 and 2025 with England.

Leicester City were hoping to try and pull off a move for Chelsea's Lexi Potter on loan but were very quickly shut down by the Blues, who want to keep her there.

As it stands, there's nobody else on the cards for Leicester. It also looks quiet at Aston Villa too, with no imminent arrivals expected.

We still have around nine hours until the 23:00 GMT deadline though so we'll see what happens but we're not expecting movement there.

  18. 'Clubs would have to pay big money'published at 14:41 GMT 3 February

Ella Toone v SpursImage source, Getty Images

It's clever from the club [to extend Toone's deal]. They've lost some massive players in previous seasons on free transfers. They want to keep her and this means other clubs would have to pay big money to get her out of the contract.

She is a phenomenal talent and United through and through. You want her in the WSL but she wants to play in the Champions League. United are bringing in a lot of new faces as well, so it feels exciting for her.

    Verdict: Twist, maybe?

  19. 'You need players who know the club inside out'published at 14:39 GMT 3 February

Miss Manchester United. You need players who know the club inside out. They need someone who really understands what it means to represent the club. It's key for them to re-sign Toone and hopefully she stays there and has that legacy with United.

She absolutely loves the club. That's really important for clubs in their set-up. She's a big-game player and the one who will turn up and perform in cup finals.

    Verdict: Stick.

  20. Stick or Twist? Ella Toonepublished at 14:37 GMT 3 February

    Ella TooneImage source, Getty Images

Two-time European Championship winner and England international Ella Toone was set to become a free agent this summer until Manchester United triggered a one-year extension on her contract earlier this month.

The 26-year-old joined the club as part of its inaugural senior squad in 2018 and remains one of United's most important players on and off the field. But what does the long term future hold for her?
