Partick Thistle leapfrogged Montrose to book the final top six spot in the SWPL with a late win at home to Hamilton Accies.

Montrose started the day a point ahead of Partick Thistle but with their defeat to Rangers Thistle just needed a win to secure a spot in the top half.

The hosts went a goal down when Josi Giard fired Accies in front after 15 minutes but Isla Taylor and Addie Handley scored late on in the first half to give Thistle a 2-1 lead at the break.

Hamilton's Melissa Reid fired an impressive strike into the corner from the edge of the box to level the tie with 15 minutes to play - a result which would have seen Thistle miss out on the top six.

Celtic loanee Sienna McGoldrick scored with the final kick of the game to confirm the three points and Thistle's place in the top six.

Hamilton Accies meanwhile remain bottom of the table heading into the split.
