    Man City 1-0 Salford

Rayan Cherki frees Omar Marmoush, who looks to square it in the box for Phil Foden to tap in but he takes too long and Matt Young can collect.

It's far from City at their sharpest but they've not needed to be.

  2. goal

    Paris Maghoma

The home side take the lead as Paris Maghoma heads home from inside the box.

Despite all the bad points with VAR this is why we need it. Tough call, but with a replay you can see Omar Marmoush is easily onside. Objective clear decisions that can be made quickly with VAR is what we want. Not these eight-minute delays over subjective calls.

    Burnley 1-0 Mansfield

Superb defending from Kyle Knoyle as Burnley threaten to score a second.

Jacob Bruun Larsen lifts the ball over Liam Roberts but the Mansfield defender is back to clear the ball to safety.

    Man City 1-0 Salford

Wonderful stuff from Tijjani Reijnders to win the ball back. Phil Foden slips the ball through for Omar Marmoush but Matt Young is quick to race from his goal and dive on the ball.

    Man City 1-0 Salford

Nico Gonzalez decides to have a go from distance. His effort takes a nick and loops over the bar for a City corner.

Phil Foden sends it in but Salford deal with it.

    Burnley 1-0 Mansfield

Burnley forward Lyle Foster tests Liam Roberts from long range and the visiting keeper gets down to his right to save.

Mansfield need to stay in this game as long as possible. The Stags have failed to win any of their last four matches when conceding first in the FA Cup, since a victory over Doncaster Rovers on 4 December 2021.

They are also on five games winless run in League One which as undermined their hopes of a play-off spot.

    Man City 1-0 Salford

Nearly half an hour gone in Manchester and we've had just the one shot on target.

It's far from a thriller, I must say.

    Man City 1-0 Salford

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at Etihad Stadium

The finish was sublime from Marmoush. He just hits a sidewinder high and cuts across it to send it into that far top corner. The keeper has no chance. It was very tight wasn't it?

  10. Dominant Citypublished at 15:25 GMT

    Man City 1-0 Salford

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

94.1% Manchester City possession in the opening 15 minutes.

Yet they are still to register an attempt on target against the League Two club.

City's record at home in the FA Cup since losing to Championship Middlesbrough in 2015 (not including today):

    Played: 16

    Won: 16

    Scored: 75

    Conceded: 6

Southampton fans had a whirlwind of emotions on Tuesday night and it must sit heavy on the shoulders of Archer who had a dismal half before being taken off and the resurgence occurred. He’s got a lot to prove personally today earning a second chance from the gaffer

That is no penalty. When Josh Austerfield is approaching that ball, he should get a shot on target.

  13. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:23 GMT

    Man City 1-0 Salford

The ball is played over the top for Omar Marmoush and he smashes into the top corner from a tight angle.

The flag goes up for offside but the replay shows Marmoush is onside. No VAR in the FA Cup at this stage, by the way.

  14. 'Austerfield is going to get some stick for that'published at 15:23 GMT

    Man City 1-0 Salford

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at Etihad Stadium

The ball is rolling across the box and Austerfield is onside. He is looking to get the left foot shot away and he almost misses it, but does he get caught? It has hit his other foot first. He has seen the lights, 'here we go far corner', and he's got it all wrong. He's going to get some stick for that.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:22 GMT

    Man City 1-0 Salford

Max Alleyne isn't able to continue after clashing with Josh Austerfield in the box.

He is replaced by 17-year-old Ryan McAidoo, who scored in the last round.

  16. goal

GOAL - Burnley 1-0 Mansfieldpublished at 15:22 GMT

    Josh Laurent

Just as the visitors begin to look comfortable the home side strike.

The ball gets played inside the Mansfield full-back by Lyle Foster and Josh Laurent sells Mansfield keeper Liam Roberts a dummy, before tapping in.

    Burnley 0-0 Mansfield

One or two signs that Mansfield are starting to grow into this game as they fling a couple of crosses into the Burnley penalty area.

  18. Postpublished at 15:19 GMT

    Southampton 0-0 Leicester

We have our first effort on goal at St Mary's.

Leicester forward Jordan Ayew flicks a header goalward from Stephy Mavididi's cross, but it's easy for Southampton goalkeeper George Long to gather.

A minute later Ayew gets a shot off and stings the palms of Long.

Leicester are looking the more likely to score at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 15:19 GMT

    Man City 1-0 Salford

Ryan Graydon does really well to drive through the City midfield and play in Josh Austerfield.

Austerfield tries to strike first time but knocks the ball away with his standing foot as Max Alleyne comes sliding in.

  20. 'City dominant at the Etihad'published at 15:16 GMT

City are dominant against Salford, as we expected.
