  1. 'There's only one goal in it'published at 22:24 GMT

FT: Man Utd 2-3 Bayern Munich

    Manchester United

Manchester United captain Maya le Tissier, speaking to Disney+, said: "Good things and bad things. Out of possession, we got pulled apart and we were not as compact as we should've been.

"It's just about the fine moments, but a lot of positives we can take away. The first one we conceded, that was down to me, the player went off my back shoulder and I could've done better with that one.

"The second one, we got stretched too much and the third goal someone should've closed that down as well."

On also scoring and registering an assist: "I was involved in the game too much! I'm glad to help the team but I should do my main part - defending - and get better at that.

"We look really disappointed, it's about swallowing that disappointment and use it for the second leg. There's only one goal in it so we have got to be confident going to Munich. These games you want to play and as soon as it was said it was at Old Trafford, everyone was buzzing. We want to play all our football here and hopefully it can happen."

  2. 'I want my players to relish in playing at this stadium'published at 22:22 GMT

FT: Man Utd 2-3 Bayern Munich

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner speaking to Disney+ about playing these big games at Old Trafford: "I want my players to relish in playing at this stadium back to back and really go after the games. City are fresh but actually we know that we can hurt them. We have to be fully fresh mentally to go into that game. These three games, this one and the next two, are all incredible opportunities for us.

"My job over the next week is to connect with my players, and if I can do that then we have a great chance to win both games and create history again."

Man Utd have played against Bayern Munich now and have seen that for as good as they've been, they are not perfect, no side is perfect. No side left in this competition doesn't not give away chances. When it is your day you can take those opportunities.

  4. 'This tie is still alive'published at 22:19 GMT

FT: Man Utd 2-3 Bayern Munich

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner speaking to Disney+: "The two goals from Harder tonight are not good enough from our perspective, which we will fix as a team. The encouraging thing is that this tie is still alive. Bayern haven't played like that, it's super direct from them, they are normally possession based and they have changed style tonight and they have got their reward for it.

"I'm frustrated with the goals that we conceded because they are pretty poor, but it is something really easily fixed going into the next leg where we know the threats that they have got now.

On positives to take: "There are loads. The quality in possession was really good until the final decision. We should have built around them quicker. We should have used the sides quicker, that is where we had our joy. We weren't clean enough in that and we kept keeping the play more central.

"What I liked was that we broke the lines, we just need to be a bit more incisive with the pass. I said to the girls at half time that they are here for a reason, so make sure we get our rewards in those moments with the finishes. I felt we could have created more goalscoring threat. Now we know what we are playing against and we go into the next leg with a fantastic opportunity to move forward."

A big week ahead of Manchester United.

Not only do they have the return leg against Bayern Munich next Wednesday, they've got a meeting with Women's Super League leaders and rivals Manchester City on Saturday.

If Marc Skinner's side can win that, then they'd only be five points behind City with three games remaining. A potential glimmer of hope for the WSL title.

  6. 'Dream come true'published at 22:16 GMT

FT: Man Utd 2-3 Bayern Munich

    Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich's Pernille Harder, who scored twice, told Disney+: "To score two goals at Old Trafford, it's a dream come true. I think United did good and made it difficult for us but we exploited the space they gave us behind the backline.

"I knew they want to attack and I was able to run deep. It was quite a shock that I was so free. I knew they were high with the backline and they were not deep so it was good timing with the pass and the run."

  7. 'Bayern showed quality in key moments'published at 22:13 GMT

Man Utd didn't necessarily show their best face, and Bayern didn't do it for the majority of the game but they showed quality in key moments. Particularly with the two Harder goals, the nature of her runs, the finishes.

And then the third goal was great in terms of quality in the build up, following the play and the composure for the finish. For long periods of the game the final pass or final shot wasn't good enough from both sides.

Nothing really in that game to make me think United can’t win the away leg. Unlucky not to get a draw out of a very even game tonight despite missing key players.

Twice they pegged Bayern Munich back, but Manchester United can't do it for a third time and the Germans will contest their home leg with a one-goal lead.

How crucial will that prove to be?

It was a very even game, especially in that second half. At times I thought the teams were cancelling each other out, but then a couple of bits of individual quality ends up making the difference for Bayern.

Proud of United tonight. I think it was a lack of experience at this level that cost us. Early goal in Munich next week and who knows?

  13. 'Good Man Utd performance overall'published at 21:55 GMT

FT: Man Utd 2-3 Bayern Munich

    Lucy Ward
    Former Leeds striker on Disney+

It was a good performance overall from Man Utd but there were key parts of it where they just gave concessions of goals away.

Next week Bayern Munich will leave more space at the back because they will want to score more goals at home, so that might be the way that they counter and keep themselves in this tie.

    There goes the whistle.

No time for Manchester United to launch a throw into the box from deep in Bayern's half. The home fans aren't happy with that.

Pernille Harder fizzes a ball towards the back post but even on the stretch, Linda Dallmann can't get much on it.

United need to be careful. Another Bayern goal would make life very, very difficult going to Germany next week.

Man Utd have dragged themselves back into the game twice and I suspect Marc Skinner won't be happy about the concession of the third goal. It was a great goal but too easy from their point of view.
