Shrewsbury Town have signed utility player Temple Ojinnaka on loan from Premier League side Wolves.

The 20-year-old can play as a midfielder, central defender or at full-back and comes straight into the Shrews' squad for Saturday's League Two game at MK Dons.

"Temple is somebody I have been aware of for a while," Shrewsbury Town boss Michael Appleton told the club website., external

"He caught my eye in a game I watched earlier this season because he likes a tackle, he is a big presence and he can get across the ground.

"He played in midfield that day. We kept an eye on him. We knew there was a possibility of getting him in for a few days, which we did.

"We then very quickly got to an agreement. We are delighted to have him on board."

Ojinnaka joined the Wolves academy aged 12 and has recently been made captain of their under-21s team, but has yet to make a senior league appearance.

He has spent the past few days training with the League Two outfit on trial and becomes Town's sixth January signing as they battle to stay in the Football League.
