Southampton have signed Israel goalkeeper Daniel Peretz on loan from Bayern Munich until the end of the Championship season.
The 25-year-old, who has 10 caps for his country, spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Bayern's fellow Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
"I'm really happy to make this move to Southampton, it's a great club in a good league and I'm really looking forward to getting started," Peretz told the club website, external.
"I want to help the team to get back in the Premier League. Although it's a tough goal, I think it's realistic. There are a lot of games to go."
Peretz began his career at Maccabi Tel Aviv, conceding just 15 goals in the Israeli Premier League in 2022-23 and keeping 16 clean sheets in 26 outings as they finished third.
He has only played four first-team games for Bayern since joining in 2023 but did feature for them in a 5-1 Champions League win at Shakhtar last season.
Peretz's loan spell at Hamburg this season, meanwhile, was limited to two German Cup appearances.
"Daniel arrives with proven ability both domestically and internationally," said Southampton technical director Johannes Spors.
"He has played at the highest level and we're delighted to welcome him here where he adds further quality and depth to our goalkeeping department."
Southampton are 15th in the Championship, having scored the joint fourth most goals in the division with 38 - but also have the joint fourth worst defensive record, having let the same number in at the other end.
Previous manager Will Still used both Gavin Bazunu and Alex McCarthy between the posts in his 16 matches before he was sacked in November.
New boss Tonda Eckert has started Bazunu in all of his 13 matches in charge, but after winning six of his first seven games, Saints have since gone six matches without a win and were thrashed 4-0 at Middlesbrough on Sunday.
