Hull City have signed midfielder Kieran Dowell on an 18-month contract from Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old made 39 appearances across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership side arriving in the summer of 2023 from Norwich City - a club he helped to Premier League promotion in 2021.

His permanent return to English football comes after he helped Birmingham City out of League One during a loan stint last season.

Dowell, who first emerged at Everton, has also previously featured for Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Derby County and Wigan Athletic.

Promotion-chasing Hull will be the ninth club he has featured for during his career.

"I've had a lot of years in the game and a fair bit of success, so hopefully I can help the lads," Dowell told Hull's website., external
