Jahnoah Markelo is Coventry City's third signing of the January transfer window

Championship leaders Coventry City have signed winger Jahnoah Markelo from Swiss top-flight club FC Zurich on a four-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old Surinam international began his career in the Netherlands with Ajax before moving to FC Twente and Go Ahead Eagles, where he made his Eredivisie debut.
Markelo then had spells at in Croatia and Slovenia before joining Zurich in October 2024.
He made 43 appearances for the Swiss Super League side, scoring six goals and contributing eight assists.

"I also want to be successful so I hope we can achieve something special together. My ambitions are to get as much playing time as I can and help the team win games.
"I'm also looking forward to playing in front of the Coventry fans and seeing the stadium. I know it's always full and has a great atmosphere so I'm very excited."
Markelo is Coventry's third signing of the January transfer window - and third winger - following the loan arrivals of Crystal Palace's Romain Esse and Yang Min-hyeok from Tottenham.
The Sky Blues, three points clear at the top of the Championship, travel to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
