There are a few people who work in Manchester United's academy thinking 'we told you so' about Ruben Amorim today.

Amorim's lack of involvement with the academy and general dismissal of the players coming out of it went down really badly.

I remember the ex-United boss scoffing when I asked him directly if he had considered putting Shea Lacey on in the final few minutes of what turned out to be a horrible home defeat by 10-man Everton in November.

Well, Darren Fletcher did bring 18-year-old Lacey on at Burnley last night and was almost rewarded with a brilliant winning goal.

Fletcher told Lacey just to play like he normally does, which is wide on the right, cutting in and causing damage.

The England Under-20 international did exactly that and had a big impact.

Lacey is one of the stars of United's academy. Amorim should have been paying closer attention.
