Lincoln sign Brentford's Konak on loan

Championship newcomers Lincoln City have signed Yunus Konak from Brentford on a season-long loan immediately after the midfielder agreed to a new five-year deal with the Premier League side.
The 20-year-old, who also has an additional 12-month option in his latest Brentford contract, has made 10 substitute appearances for the Bees in the top flight since joining the London club from Sivasspor in January 2024.
He spent the later part of the 2025-26 season on loan in the Championship with Oxford, featuring 16 times in a campaign that ended in relegation to League One.
Lincoln's sporting director Jez George said the Turkey under-21 international has been the the club's "number one" target when looking to bolster the midfield this summer.
"As a number six, we feel as though all his out of possession attributes fit perfectly to our game model and that we can help him to develop some of his other qualities in how we play with the ball," George told the club website., external
Konak moves to Lincolnshire just three days after the club started its first campaign in the second tier for 65 years with an opening-day defeat by Middlesbrough.
The Imps are next at home on Saturday against Portsmouth.
