Cambridge United have signed Gillingham striker Elliott Nevitt on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has scored three goals in 24 appearances this season and played against Cambridge in a 1-1 draw on Boxing Day.
He began his career playing non-league football in the Liverpool area and moved into the EFL with Tranmere Rovers in 2021 after scoring a hat-trick for Warrington Rylands 1906 at Wembley in the FA Vase Final.
Nevitt joins a Cambridge side unbeaten in 11 games and he said: "The club is on a good run and their ambitions are my ambitions. I want to be at the right end of the league, fighting for something.
"I know it's going to be hard to get into the team when everyone is going well, but that's what you want - you can tell it's a good place to be."
Sixth-placed Cambridge are at home to Tranmere on Saturday, when they will be looking for their fourth win in a row.
On Nevitt's arrival, boss Neil Harris said: "He adds real competition and energy to the front line, and I believe he's a very good fit for us."
