Bristol City have appointed former Jockey Club CEO Charlie Boss as their new chief executive.
Boss has previously worked as chief commercial officer at City's Championship rivals Southampton and ran Disney's sport businesses in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Boss left the Jockey Club in December having been appointed as interim chief executive of the body, which runs 15 racecourses including Cheltenham and Aintree.
He replaces Tom Rawcliffe who stepped down as chief executive at Ashton Gate last week because of family commitments after less than a year in the role.
"It's great that we have been able to move so quickly on this appointment following Tom Rawcliffe's departure," chairman Jon Lansdown said.
"Charlie was known to the club and the board from his time at Southampton and it quickly became apparent that he had a great skillset to complement Gerhard and the existing team at the Robins HPC.
"Charlie's experience in previous roles focusing on strategic commercial growth, fan engagement and sports marketing will be a great asset.
"It's rare that timings work out so well and I'm looking forward to him starting next week as we focus on the football and our promotion push."
The Oxford University graduate has also held marketing roles with the Football Association and England Rugby
"It is a privilege to be entrusted to lead Bristol City," said Boss, who will start work on Monday. "I can't wait to get started and get to know this great club's people and its fans.
"I would like to thank Jon and the Lansdown family alongside the board for the opportunity.
"We all know Bristol City is focused on promotion and I look forward to working with the wider team to ensure the club is ready to deliver on that ambition on and off the pitch."
