Rangers head coach Danny Rohl expects "the next three, four days to be a little crazy" as they try to assemble the best possible squad for the Scottish title run-in.
Rohl's team visit Porto in their final Europa League match on Thursday evening and, with Rangers unable to progress, his pre-match news conference was dominated instead by questions about possible ins and outs.
The German was reluctant to discuss transfer plans in detail but did concede they were looking to add "an attacking player".
Asked how many players he wanted to bring in before deadline day, he said: "I have a number in my head. [Chairman] Andrew [Cavenagh] knows it, the recruitment knows it," Rohl said.

"Some moments you think you have a yes, then maybe not. But, all in all, I think, at the end of the window, we should have a good number of players."
Reports have suggested Rangers knocked back offers for winger Djeidi Gassama and striker Youssef Chermiti this week and Rohl believes that is positive for the club.
"I think we will keep our best players," he said. "We have big goals this season, we are in two competitions and we need our best players. We want to strengthen our squad, not make it weaker."
Asked whether further signings depended on selling fringe players from the squad, he added: "Not really, but of course we know we have a big squad and this one thing will influence the other.
"This is, of course, a topic, but in general, the new signings will not influence the final decision-making from our side. I think, if we can do something, we will do it."
With nothing to play for in the Estadio Dragao against a Porto side for whom a win should be enough to finish in the top eight, Rohl says "a clean sheet" is his priority from the game.
Fit-again defender Dujon Sterling and striker Danilo, whose partner is expecting a baby, have not travelled, but centre-half John Souttar and forward Youssef Chermiti are available again.
