Barrow have signed defender Joe Anderson from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old joins the Bluebirds on an 18-month contract and is the third arrival this month following goalkeeper Killian Barrett and Stoke City loanee Freddie Anderson.

Anderson played seven times for the Black Cats after a move from Everton in January 2023, the last of which was in April last year.

"Having played at Championship level with Sunderland before and in League One, Joe knows what it takes to perform at higher levels, and I am looking forward to getting to work right away with him on the training pitch," said Barrow head coach Paul Gallagher., external

All three new players will be available for Gallagher's first game in charge - the match at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
