Truro City have signed Plymouth Argyle youngsters Freddie Issaka and Caleb Roberts on loan until the end of the season.

Wales under-21 winger Issaka, 19, holds the record as Argyle's youngest-ever first team player after making his debut aged 15 years and 34 days on 31 August 2021.

He spent the first half of this season on loan at League One side Bristol Rovers, but struggled to make an impact.

He made eight substitute appearances for the Pirates, with his only start coming in a Vertu Trophy game with Cambridge United last month.

Issaka has also played three times for the Pilgrims this season, meaning he could not go on loan to another EFL side as players can only feature for two in one season.

Roberts also made his Plymouth debut as a young teenager - he was 16 when he pulled on a green shirt for the first time in November 2021.

The 20-year-old has played 13 times in all competitions for Argyle since Tom Cleverley took over as manager last summer, starting one League One game and making five further third tier appearances from the bench.

They join a Truro side third-from-bottom of the National League, five points from safety with 15 games to play.
