Neil Harris: 'There's no time to be frustrated'

Cambridge United boss Neil Harris says his side cannot afford to waste time on feeling frustrated after dropping out of the automatic promotion places in League Two.

The U's have not won any of their last three games and are fourth in the table ahead of Saturday's crunch home fixture against Notts County, who have a two-point advantage in third.

"In the last 27 games since we played Notts County (away), we've won 15, drawn 10 and only lost two, so as much as we were extremely frustrated on the way back from Cheltenham on Monday, we should also reflect on what good form we've been in," Harris told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"There's a frustration to it, but there's also a positive side to it as well and we haven't got the time now to be frustrated. It's about moving forward to Notts County, they've just stolen our spot and we want to take it back."

Harris said it is time for his team to adopt a "hunting" mentality again, rather than being a team chased by rivals.

"It was a brilliant atmosphere against Swindon last week at the Abbey and this will be no different - it's a really exciting one for everybody, a great game for the neutrals," he continued.

"If I could play anybody in the league, it would be Notts County on Saturday - they're a very good side, but they're the team that have just took our spot so we need to chase them.

"We have to make sure we nullify their threats and be the best version of us. When we create chance after chance after chance, we have to be more ruthless because that's ultimately why we're not top of the league at the moment.

"If we want to progress to the next level, in those killer moments, we have to be more instinctive, more proactive and ruthless."

Korey Smith has now resumed full training after recovering from a foot injury and fellow midfielder James Brophy could also come into contention following a broken hand suffered against Swindon on 2 April.
