Fleetwood Town have appointed Matt Lawlor as their interim head coach until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old was first team coach under Pete Wild, who was sacked on Sunday.

Wild was relieved of his duties after the League Two side fell to a sixth defeat in seven matches with a 2-1 reverse at Colchester United on Saturday.

Lawlor will be assisted by Mark Yeates and Nathan Pond and his first game in charge will be Tuesday's trip to bottom side Harrogate Town.
