Crewe Alexandra manager Lee Bell says his play-off chasing team "will not be getting carried away" with their recent good form - especially results away from home.

The Alex beat Crawley 1-0 at the weekend thanks to Tommi O'Reilly's excellent 77th-minute volley to extend their unbeaten run to four games and take them to within two points of the top seven in League Two.

Three of those matches have been on the road, with Crewe taking five points from a possible nine.

After securing draws at leaders Bromley and play-off rivals Barnet, Lee said he was delighted to see his players maintain their levels at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday.

"I said to the lads, the past away performances count for nothing - they will be judged on this game and they can be praised because they put in some shift for the club," Lee told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We won't be getting carried away."

Lee said the feel-good factor around the club at the moment was down to "good people and good characters" and is part of the ethos he has been establishing since he took charge in November 2022.

"It's taken us three years to build the culture we think we've got and players have been around the club long enough to make sure that continues," Lee said.

"We haven't walked off the pitch this season and said the players haven't tried - sometimes we've lacked in certain areas but I don't think the players have not tried.

"I'm delighted for them."
