Crewe Alexandra's on-loan midfielder Tommi O'Reilly says they can match any team in the division as the promotion-chasers prepare for two key games in League Two.

The Railwaymen are 10th in the table, just three points behind their Saturday lunchtime hosts Notts County, who occupy the final play-off place in seventh.

They then visit leaders Bromley on Tuesday night.

"Every point matters at this stage," 22-year-old O'Reilly told BBC Radio Stoke.

"If you look at the league table it's very close, so a few wins on the bounce and we can be right up there, and I believe in the team.

"They are two tough teams to play but obviously we've already beaten Notts County so we know we can beat them, and Bromley, I feel we should have beaten them, we had lots of chances.

"So it's not like these teams are world beaters and we can't beat them. I think any team in this division, we can give them a good game."

It has been confirmed O'Reilly's parent club Aston Villa will not be triggering the release clause in his season-long loan agreed in July, so he will be staying for the rest of their campaign.

"Easy decision," he added. "I'm enjoying it a lot, I'm contributing to the team and I'm playing loads of minutes which is only going to be better for my development, and it's a really nice place to be.

"I'm glad I've got this January period out the way and I've got a bit of clarity over what I'm doing now. I've really settled here, and hopefully I can keep producing."

O'Reilly is riding high in the League Two goal involvement charts with five goals and eight assists.

He says he is delighted with how well this loan period is going after statistically less productive temporary spells at Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons.

"It's very pleasing, that's what I wanted to do," he added. "I feel like I had the ability. I'm just happy that I'm able to show it and produce at this level.

"You don't expect to play every single game, but I have. I know I need to keep producing for the team and keep helping them win games."
