We asked for your views following the weekend Scottish Premiership action, as leaders Hearts drew with Celtic while Rangers moved second by beating Dundee on Sunday after Aberdeen, Falkirk and Motherwell secured comfortable Saturday wins.

Here are a selection of your responses.

'Great advert for Scottish football'

Hearts fought back twice at Tynecastle...

Alan: We are dominating big games and small ones. Fought back hard when previously we'd have felt sorry for ourselves at 2-1 down and been stuck there. As long as there's all this effort for each other and the team and fans continue to stick together behind them. I need say no more. Pierre Landry Kabore could have scored, some other chances could have gone in, but we are still clear at top. Let's see at end February to April.

David: If you were a neutral then this game was a great advert for Scottish football. As a Jambo I am delighted, given the players we had missing, to take at least one point from the game in yet another battling display. Marc Leonard already looks like a useful addition but clearly the management team don't see Elton Kabangu in their plans.

Brian: Celtic had three chances and scored two of them. The majority of the time Hearts controlled the game and made Celtic look bang average. Alexandros Kyziridis and Claudio Braga both had great chances and we let Celtic off the hook. Kabore covered every blade of grass and Tomas Magnusson gets better with every game. A great performance considering how many injuries we have currently.

Peter: The fact that despite the loss of three key players, we can perform as well as we did is very encouraging for the prospects of winning the title race. The fact also that we probably should have won the game is a little frustrating, but that point won could prove to be crucial and I certainly would have settled for that prior to kick-off.

Highlights: Hearts 2-2 Celtic

Celtic finished with 10 players following Auston Trusty's red card, a decision reached following a VAR review...

Norman: Celtic showed real grit to deny Hearts a home win despite a red card. Went ahead twice and showed enough resilience to make other title contenders think there's a reason why Celtic have dominated Scottish football recently.

Ray: On the Celtic sending off, Martin O'Neill is correct. Auston Trusty deserved a yellow, it's not a clear goalscoring opportunity and another defender is tracking back. The referee was correct but VAR interferes. VAR is refereeing games, and that's not what it was introduced for.

Fred: I thought that on the balance of play a draw was a fair result. I don't believe the second equaliser was anything to do with the sending off. I was more concerned because both goals we conceded came from a corner and a free-kick. We must tighten up in central defence. The sending off was not only of the soft variety but also was influenced by John Beaton on VAR encouraging the referee to have a second look at the incident. There was nothing blatant in the challenge, the ball was going away from goal, we had another player covering, so there was absolutely no guarantees that a goal would have resulted had Trusty not touched him as briefly as he did. O'Neill has a tough task on his hands to turn this around. More signings required ASAP, but Tomas Cvancara shaped well considering it was his first game in two months apparently.

Peter: Let's be realistic. With the level of ambition shown by the board we will finish third at best in league. That is a true reflection of the players currently at our club. Our failure to sign a goalscoring forward says a lot. There is no progress. We simply cannot beat what is in front of us with the players we have. It is not rocket science. O'Neill should walk if he is not given a quality centre-forward. Even then it may be too late.

'Striker badly needed' at Rangers

Rangers were comfortable winners in the end but had to wait until the second half for the goals...

Sally: Another striker badly needed. A chance of winning the league may well depend on one being sourced. Danny Rohl has to be applauded for dragging this team to where they are in the league table. Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga are forming a good partnership and with time could be the go-to partnership. Playing the ball faster suits this team but passes need to be sharpened.

Robert: Worst game for a while but still won, it's a good sign. A prolific striker and we win this league, it's that simple. Can see the team are bonding and fighting as a group now. Manager has worked a miracle with the squad.

Calum: Feels like this is such a big result. A hard few weeks ahead for us though, Hibs away, Hearts at home. Motherwell away and Celtic at home too, and that's without mentioning one or two other fixtures. Come out of this next month and a bit with near enough maximum points, and it definitely looks very good for Rangers. But time will tell, as it so often has for us.

Steven: This team still has a lot of convincing to do. While the three points are welcome and necessary, there is no real flow to our game and a real lack of a clinical edge. We're dominating the ball and doing little or nothing with it at times. Today's scoreline flattered the performance. Early days for the new recruits, but judgement will come pretty quickly for them if they don't improve the team's performance level.

Highlights: Rangers 3-0 Dundee

Dundee saw out January with a second successive league loss...

Bob: Some of the (over) optimism is a bit misplaced. This team is capable of losing multiple games on the trot. Relegation is still a distinct threat. Going to Ibrox and setting your stall out for 0-0 is pathetic. Got what they deserved.

Albert: Great performance by Dundee, the scoreline flatters Rangers. Hopefully Aberdeen don't come in for our manager now that all his good work is showing on the park...

'Hands off Tawanda Maswanhise'

It just keeps getting better for Motherwell after a 4-0 home win over Kilmarnock...

Mark: What a result for the 'Well. The disallowed goal really woke us up and from there on it was a demolition job. Four really well worked goals cementing us in fourth place and five clear of Hibs. Just hope Martin O'Neill wasn't watching on again - hands off Tawanda Maswanhise.

Eddie: I never thought I'd see a Motherwell team play football like that. The manager deserves all the credit, the transformation from the last three seasons is unbelievable.

Colin: A really good all round performance from every player in the park. It's good to see some great goals resulting from our excellent play. It's a great time to be a 'Well fan.

Alan: 4-0 at Fir Park, and nine home games without conceding, Motherwell aren't just in form, they've turned their ground into a fortress.

It was a familiar feeling for second-bottom Kilmarnock...

Kenny: It's the same old story. Killie don't have the quality required to compete in the league and, unless drastic measures are taken to improve the squad, the Championship looks inevitable. If the squad doesn't get improved before the end of the transfer window then I think Neil McCann would have better luck playing the boys from the U19s as they know what it takes to win a game.

Iain: Same old, same old. I think the fans are getting tired of hearing about the lack of confidence, poor decisions by the referee, yellow then red cards undeserved, a bit of bad luck, and so the excuses continue. It is about time the players took a long hard look at themselves and not at the excuses.

Jon: You can't help but think that we're doomed. I don't think any manager could turn the results around with this current squad. The most disappointing thing is that there is no passion or fight in the players. They're just lucky that Livingston keep losing as well. Scraping survival via the play-offs is our only hope.

Tom: How much longer before McCann admits that he hasn't got the players in the building to keep us up. A clear-out of the deadwood and better quality in is the only answer or we will go down.

'What a time to be a Bairn'

Falkirk moved to within two points of Hibernian by beating the Easter Road side 4-1, with Barney Stewart scoring a hat-trick...

Tommy: We fear no one in this league. Again I have to take my hat off to John McGlynn for sticking by Barney Stewart up front. Barney rewards him and the club back with a hat-trick against a good side.

Pabs: Barney rightfully gets the headlines but Dylan Tait and Leon McCann were superb. Grit, work rate and determination to win. They bossed Hibs. McGlynn and his staff have built an incredible team.

David: Another step in the McGlynn journey. We didn't manage to overcome the two Edinburgh giants in each of the first two games of the season, but have now dispatched both in the space of a fortnight. The men from Leith came calling with a team of international defenders but were dispatched back by a scintillating performance by McGlynn's footballers in a performance that merited accolades in a higher league. Stewart's story will make all the headlines this week and rightly so, but there will be others in this dressing room that will make the headlines in future weeks. This is the McGlynn story.

Neil: Absolutely superb, every single player in navy blue put in a shift. Some of the play was the best I've ever seen from a Falkirk side. Well done big Barney, great hat-trick from a young lad who was playing in the Lowland League just 12 months ago, his story is Roy of the Rovers stuff. John, Paul Smith and Stephen McGinn are giving us a Falkirk side that will be talked about for years. It just keeps getting better and better, what a time to be a Bairn.

It was a disappointing day for Hibs...

Niall: Same old, same old. Tactical set-up went stale a long time ago and it is getting embarrassing at this stage. The only question I have for fans still backing David Gray is how bad does it have to get before you'll come to the realisation that he needs to go? Hope Hibs rightly refund the travelling support. Not good enough.

Keith: Utterly dreadful display. Our defending was embarrassing. We need a change because our season is as good as over.

John: Worst performance for a number of years and the season has nothing left to get excited about. Out of the Scottish Cup and now trying to finish fifth or sixth in the league, which is very disappointing.

Kenny: We play the same system time after time. Teams have us worked out. Falkirk played us off the park. They were better in all departments. Gray needs to go. He doesn't seem to able to change anything. The goals we lost were defensive blunders and the players just stand and look at each other. We are a ship without a captain.

Aberdeen 'a totally different team'

Aberdeen returned to winning ways in the league with a 6-2 triumph over bottom side Livingston...

Graeme: What just happened? The world has been turned on its head. Great result from a team performance and a change to not lose the fight after the disallowed goal and sending off. Now don't go out and lose to Kilmarnock next weekend.

Mark: The transformation in our attacking play was pretty remarkable and it could have been eight or nine. Of course Livi contributed to their own downfall with some awful defending but it shows how players like Kevin Nisbet and Topi Keskinen can thrive when there is quality delivery from midfield and in the wide areas. Great full debut from Mitchel Frame, another player making a difference to the team already.

Fred: Looked a totally different team. What a difference a manager with drive and passion makes. The team looked determined and full of energy. Great to see accurate crosses. The defence was a bit shaky but when you score six it is not a disaster. Well done!

Martin: Great result but let's not paper over the cracks as it was against a team who are bottom for a reason. Good to finally have a striker scoring though and hopefully it can instil confidence into this lot for the rest of the season. There's a team here, it's just a case of finding it.

Livi remain three points adrift...

Robert: Sorry but I'm thinking David Martindale's time is up, it's time for change.

Norrie: Time for Martindale to go. He's lost the confidence of the supporters. Every week he hides behind a VAR decision or something else happening on the pitch. Martindale has to look at his own conduct and tactical decisions, sent off on Saturday and booked against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup when he ran into the dugout to hide behind his players. Also all the players Livingston have signed in January, why have none of them started? I'm sorry David you've put a lot into the club but you're past your sell by date.
