Birmingham right-back Alfons Sampsted has left the club on a permanent basis and joined Dutch Eredivisie outfit Go Ahead Eagles for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old Iceland international made six Championship appearances for Blues in the first half of the season but hasn't featured since coming on as a substitute in the 3-2 victory over Coventry on 4 January.

In total, Sampsted made 31 appearances for Birmingham and was part of the squad which won the League One title last season.
