Wrexham's Tom O'Connor, who is currently on loan at Peterborough United, has been fined for breaches of the Football Association's betting rules.
He broke the rules by placing 16 bets on football matches between 23 April 2017 and 25 May 2021.
During this period O'Connor played for Southampton and Gillingham and of the 16 bets, five were placed on competitions involving his own club.
The 26-year-old admitted the charges and an independent regulatory commission imposed a £4,200 fine and issued a warning following a hearing.
He escaped further punishment, with the Football Association (FA) stating: "Due to his early admission of guilt and his co-operation with the FA's investigation and disciplinary process, the commission considered that Mr O'Connor's conduct does not warrant a sporting sanction."
O'Connor joined Wrexham from Burton Albion in January 2022 when the Welsh side were still in the National League but has spent this season on loan at Peterborough United in League One.
The versatile defender's Wrexham contract expires in the summer of 2027.
He has featured 18 times across all competitions for the Posh so far this season.
