Whitmore has Newport contract mutually terminated

Newport County midfielder Kai Whitmore has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old started the season as a regular starter for the League Two strugglers, but has made just one start since the appointment of Christian Fuchs.
Whitmore, who joined in July 2024, has not been included in seven of the last eight Newport squads, and leaves having made 52 appearances for the Exiles.
"Everyone at Newport County would like to thank Kai for his efforts and commitment while at the club and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career," said a club statement.
