Grimsby Town have said they are "extremely disappointed" about alleged sexist abuse aimed at the match official in Saturday's draw with MK Dons.

The League Two game, which finished 2-2, was refereed by Kirsty Dowle.

"We are extremely disappointed to receive these reports and want to make it clear that the club operates a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in all its forms," the Mariners said in a statement on the club website, external.

"Such behaviour is unacceptable, contrary to the values of both the club and the game, and will not be tolerated."
