Schumacher: 'It can't be a fluke'

The number of points won by Bolton Wanderers from last-minute goals this season is not a fluke, according to boss Steven Schumacher.

Sam Dalby's strike in Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Burton Albion made it nine League One goals scored and 13 extra points earned by Wanderers in the 90th-minute and beyond.

"If you do it that often it can't be a fluke," Schumacher told BBC Radio Manchester.

"The work rate and energy the players play with is outstanding and to keep going and keep believing to the very end is credit to them and long may that continue because it's important for any team to be successful you don't know you're beaten."

The win over Burton made it back-to-back victories for third-placed Bolton and extended their unbeaten run to four games as they prepare to play their ninth and final match of January at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday (12:30 GMT).

"It's been a mad month. That's our 11th game since Boxing Day," added Schumacher.

"We're ploughing on, trying to use as much of the squad as best as we can and trying to get people as fresh as we possibly can."
