Crewe sign Wolves defender Pond on loan

Crewe Alexandra have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Alfie Pond on loan for the rest of the season.

Pond made a brief Premier League debut for Wolves in a 4-1 win at Fulham in November 2024 and has also played in the FA and League Cups.

This season, however, he has been restricted to three appearances for their under-21 side in the EFL Trophy.

Pond, 21, began his career at hometown club Exeter City before joining Wolves and had a previous loan spell at Stockport County during 2023-24.

He will be available for Sunday's League Two game at Barnet, with Crewe currently 10th in the table, four points outside the play-off spots.
