Oxford United have signed Luton Town defender Christ Makosso on loan for the rest of the season.
Makosso's move could become permanent as the deal includes an option to buy the Congo international.
He joined Luton in January 2025 from Belgian club RWDM and worked under Oxford head coach Matt Bloomfield during his seven-month spell at the Hatters.
"I have a strong relationship with the gaffer. He played a big role in my development at Luton and knows my game inside out," Makosso told the Oxford website., external.
"This move feels right for my career and I'm ready to help the team immediately. I want to bring success to the Club and I can't wait to get started."
The deal was not completed in time for Saturday's match against Birmingham, but Makosso could feature when Oxford visit Sheffield United on Tuesday.
"Christ adapted quickly to the Championship, which is never easy for a young player arriving in a new country," added Bloomfield.
"Athletically he is exceptional. He is quick, powerful and brave, and defends the box with real conviction.
"He has an extremely high ceiling but, just as importantly, is ready to come in and improve the group right now."
