Defender Millie Daviss has signed a professional contract with Norwich City Women in her 10th season with the club.

The Canaries are second in Women's National League Division One South East and return to action on Sunday with a home game against Queens Park Rangers.

Norwich are one point behind leaders Fulham and only the side finishing top will win promotion to the third tier of the women's game.

Club captain Daviss joined Norwich in 2016-17 and said: "I just want to kick on and do as much as I can for the club, I think we're in a really good position at the moment, so we just need to keep our standards high."

Ellie Bishop, Eloise King, Eloise Hall and Ceri Flye became the first female players to be paid by the Canaries when they signed professional deals last summer.

"Millie epitomises everything Norwich City stands for - her professionalism, commitment and leadership have consistently set the standards within the playing group," said head of women's football Flo Allen.

"Her performances this season have highlighted her importance to the team and she fully deserves this reward."
