Harrogate manager Simon Weaver has described his side's recent resurgence as "getting back in the ring and involved in the fight".

But the long-serving Town boss admitted they have to be wary of walking on to a 'knockout blow' from Bromley when League Two's current leaders rock up at Wetherby Road this weekend.

Harrogate beat in-form promotion-chasers Cambridge United on 7 February after a winless run stretching back 20 games to September last year.

Since then they have backed it up with a draw against Chesterfield and another win, at Barrow.

Seven points from nine have given the club a huge and timely boost, but Weaver admits Bromley represents the litmus test for that revival, with Andy Woodman's team on a 14-match unbeaten streak.

"We have played well. You can feel it in the changing room once you get a point or three points and string it together. The air is lighter, the music is on that bit louder and the belief is running through the veins of everybody," Weaver told BBC Radio York.

"It feels like we have properly entered the ring and we are involved in the fight.

"Bromley is another test but we can't be daunted by anyone. Cambridge came to us with the best record in the league and we were 2-0 up after 20 minutes. We have to put a marker down early in the game."

Harrogate's revival has lifted them from bottom to 23rd, a point above Newport County but still two points from safety as they seek to preserve their English Football League status for a sixth consecutive season.
