It has not been too much of a happy new year for Manchester City, falling off the pace in the Premier League and injuries stacking up.

Back-to-back draws to start 2026 mean Pep Guardiola's side are now six points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

Not only did they concede late on against Chelsea on Sunday, but they have lost Josko Gvardiol to a broken shinbone and City are awaiting the extent of the injury to fellow defensive partner Ruben Dias.

City have stepped up their interest in Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, while they have still not completed the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, so it remains to be seen whether they dip into the transfer market any further.

And Guardiola is likely to be asked about the sacking of Ruben Amorim across the city in his news conference.
