Notts County defender Matt Platty says his side have a "quiet confidence" they can continue their recent fine form in League Two.

The Magpies are yet to win five consecutive matches in the English Football League since their promotion back to the fourth tier two years ago, but have beaten Crawley Town, Crewe, Swindon Town and Fleetwood in their past four games.

They are currently fifth in the League Two table, on 51 points, and are two points off the automatic promotion places.

"I think we've got a quiet confidence in the group that at the minute we're kind of on a good run," Platt told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"But the gaffer keeps saying it's just (about) the next game. It doesn't matter what's gone previous. It's just we focus on the next game, we'll prepare like we always do and, meet it head on Tuesday night against Gillingham.

"I think at the minute a lot of the teams at the top are winning, but that's just the way it goes.

"We've just got to focus on ourselves. If we keep doing our bit then that's the most important thing."
