Northampton Town captain Jon Guthrie is looking forward to "building and building" his fitness after finally making his League One comeback from a serious knee injury.
Following two brief appearances in the EFL Trophy, Guthrie was used as a 69th-minute substitute in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at Sixfields.
It was his first league appearance since rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Stevenage in January.
"It's a great feeling - the intensity, the movement is definitely a bit of a step up from the cup games," 32-year-old Guthrie told BBC Radio Northampton.
"They gave me a bit of warning that it might happen and I was just itching to get on. That's the longest I've played and now I've got to keep building and building."
Next up for Northampton is the Nene derby against Peterborough United, where they won 4-0 in April - a game Guthrie missed because of his injury.
"It's the first game we look out for and we did the double over them last season; it would be great to replicate that," he said.
"It's a confident group, the boys are in a really good place at the moment, they've been doing really well. To get another three points on Saturday would give us a nice gap between us and them."
Boss Kevin Nolan, meanwhile, expressed concern about a fixture list which will see them away to Burton Albion before facing Huddersfield again three days later.
"The league really need to have a look at the fixture list. It's incredible what these lads have to go through and it's no wonder people are suffering with injuries.
"If they want the product to be really good, they've got to look after the lads because then you've got all the best teams with the best 11s having a right go at each other.
"Overplaying sometimes doesn't help but that's for me and the EFL to have a scrap over."
