Cameron King scored the only goal as FC Halifax beat bottom club Chorley 1-0 to move up to sixth in the National League table.
Devante Rodney had the ball in the hosts' net inside the opening minute but the linesman's flag was raised.
Chorley debutant Connor Hall forced Sam Johnson into a superb stop in the 17th minute and Alex Newby was unable to turn home on the follow-up.
Newby hit the post from range 10 minutes later before Rodney's curling shot from distance clattered the woodwork for Halifax four minutes before the break.
King put Halifax in front with a back-post header in the 60th minute and the visitors held on to claim all three points.
