Summer signing Connell Rawlinson had not scored since November 2018 - for his previous club Port Vale
Notts County moved up to fifth in the National League following a 2-1 win against play-off rivals Bromley.
Wes Thomas fired the Magpies in front in the fourth minute after good work from Sam Osborne, but he was denied a second by goalkeeper Ryan Huddart after controlling Connell Rawlinson's superb 60-yard pass.
Notts were then awarded a penalty when Alex Lacey was bundled over in the penalty area - but Mitch Rose fired his spot-kick against a post.
Bromley thought they had equalised after 29 minutes but the referee deemed nobody else had touched a long throw from Chris Bush before the ball nestled in the net.

Michael Cheek (centre) has now scored 15 goals for Bromley this season
Sam Slocombe pulled off a stunning save to keep out Billy Bingham's fierce drive before the break, but Bromley did then level shortly after the restart when Michael Cheek let fly from distance.
But Notts regained the lead with 20 minutes remaining through defender Rawlinson's first goal for the club - a powerful header from a corner.
Bromley defender Bush was sent off at the death for a second booking as Notts comfortably held on.
